I heard you got props from Paul McCartney backstage after the Grammy Invisible performance?

I saw him walking past and I wasn’t going to stop him. There were so many people around. I wanted to say something but I was like, ‘There was so much going on... If there’s another time, good Lord willing, I’ll be able to say hello.’ Sure enough, as soon as I made that decision, he made his way towards me. And he looked at me twice, sort of a double take kind of thing, walked over to me, and shook my hand, complimented the performance, complimented the song, and yeah just said a lot of really cool things. And ironically, I was standing outside of Lindsey Buckingham’s dressing room so I could say hello to him. So that was pretty friggin’ cool.
Seriously, Hunter - please continue! lol

[Excerpt from an interview with AC Newman of The New Pornographers]

The Gothamist, August 27, 2014

http://gothamist.com/2014/08/27/ac_n...nographers.php

Didn't he put that album together mostly by himself? Yeah, Dave Fridmann mixed it, I believe. It definitely has that work of a crazy loner genius. There are lots of modern bands that I think are awesome, like MGMT. But most of our influences are pretty old. Most of the time we’re looking to classic rock. I’m actually shocked: when I look back at our entire career and I try and think of the most major influences on us, I really think they are ELO, Wings, and Lindsey Buckingham.

“Champions of Red Wine,” made me feel like I was listening to an updated version of [Fleetwood Mac's] Mirage. Oh, really? That’s good. That’s a huge compliment.

Get Ready to Go Out Tonight with This Playlist

"Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac

"Go Your Own Way" is Fleetwood Mac's most enduring song. It's not as rowdy as some of the other tracks on this list, but its cheery sound and Lindsey Buckingham's voice will keep you singing along if you start to fade.

[Excerpt from interview where Joanne Shaw talks about LB, well thank you Dave Stewart]

Stereoboard, September 26, 2014

http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/187471/9

What struck me about ‘The Dirty Truth’ is how the songwriting is the star and all your guitar playing serves the songs.

It's certainly been a conscious effort on my part to improve the songwriting and I think that comes from Dave Stewart. When I was signed to him I'd been singing a little bit but mostly just playing a lot of solos. He said to me: ‘You can play the best guitar solo in the world, but if it's not in a good song no one's ever going to hear it.’

He got me listening to guys like Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac - amazing guitar on Big Love and his solo live on Oh Well is probably one of the best versions I've ever heard. But they are encased in fantastic songs and they only add to the songs. I love a big guitar solo but sometimes you just don't need it, particularly for an album which is kind of like a snapshot.

'80s Halloween costume idea: Go as Lindsey Buckingham's hair
Kevin Wuench Friday, October 3, 2014 8:45am

With his work with Fleetwood Mac and his solo material, Buckingham built an impressive ‘80s resume, but not all of his singles were smashes as Slow Dancing only reached No. 106 on the charts in 1984. The video features Buckingham dancing with his ghost girl and staying in time despite his Eraserhead hair.

Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac have just started their comeback tour that includes the surprise return of Christine McVie and will conclude their North American tour on Dec. 20 at the former Tampa Bay Times Forum. http://www.lindseybuckingham.com/

[From a Virgil and the Accelerators Review, Stereoboard]

http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/187645/9

Free has a really southern rock, almost country vibe too.

With that one we were listening to Fleetwood Mac's World Turning and Lindsey Buckingham's riff. I was like: “Man, that's wicked.” So we were sitting in our rehearsal room and I had the 12 string out and was trying to play this World Turning riff. I think I must have done something different and Jack said “play that again”, picked up his bass and started chugging it out, and that's how Freedom came about. It's got a bit of a Skynyrd feel to it.

So it goes without saying that I have a few suggestions for band choices for Spring Fling this year. These picks are staying within the realm of possibility. For the sake of venting though, anything involving Dave Grohl is more than welcome or even better, a supergroup lead by Freddie Mercury with Clapton and Lindsey Buckingham on guitar and John Bonham on drums (that last one might end up being a little overshadowed with the with news that someone at PSU figured out how to break the mortal coil, though).

^Thanks. That's a nice photo. That Lindsey, we will never be able to date a photo from the way he looks, because he always looks the same so often.

[Excerpt From an article on The Ting Tings]

http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-...-forever-3241/

The Ting Tings interview: "We've gone disco, but not forever"

Katie: “We’re going to hunt down [Fleetwood Mac's] Lindsey Buckingham and force him to work with us! It won’t be an out-and-out country record, but a Ting Tings take on that sound. If we can make five or six albums this way I think we’ll be very happy. We've gone a dancey for this record, but it's natural for us to explore new sounds.”

Ting Tings? Country-like? Lindsey? That's an... interesting... mix. Hmm.

The New Trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road Is Like Burning Man Gone Wrong
By Nate Jones

As Lindsey Buckingham never said, "It's a long way down Fury Road." The new Mad Max reboot has been described as "practically a feature-length chase scene," and that's certainly the case for the film's newest trailer, which is basically 100 percent crazy guys driving crazy convoys around a crazy desert. Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron are the main actors, but we can all agree that the real star is whoever was in charge of making all those cars explode.
