I actually prefer that to the Big Yellow Taxi cover (and Satisfied Mind but I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Jeff Buckley fan and it's tough to find something better than his).

Ok it didn't make my ears bleed, but this is a matter of taste and I can't think of anyone that would think this version is in good taste. Not saying he's a bad musician (he's great), but the moaning vocal style and incessant triplets on the guitar are not what I'd ever want when I keep the original arrangement in mind.

In other words, I don't feel the sun is coming at all, I feel like someone is going into labor...

It really doesn't sound anything like the original, and I'm guessing that's what he was going for. I actually rather like it. Not the greatest thing ever, but certainly better than passable. His guitar sounds odd to me, but I imagine that's due to the hole in it from when he got upset with the producers of the show before the performance! I wonder how it would sound as a studio track.

I think Erin's right. I'm sure he didn't want it to sound anything like the original. Sometimes that works out for the best and everyone loves the reinvention, sometimes it's a miss. It took me a few listens to even get used to his take on this song but I've grown to love it.

Ok. Yikes. That's just bloody awful!!!! Poor George Harrison must have been rolling over in his grave and planning to haunt Lindsey for eternity for that. That's almost like fingernails on the chalkboard!!

ChiliD I should have listened to your advice and not listened to it but I just couldn't stop myself.

Eh, I like it. I love the guitar and just written new lyrics for it and pretended it was a new song. It's hard to compare it to the fantastic original. I think it's just easier to think of them as different songs.
