Lindsey Buckingham's "Under The Skin" released
http://www.therockradio.com/2006/10/...nder-skin.html

Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham's latest solo album, called Under The Skin, came out on October 3rd, 2006 which was the date of his 57th birthday. He's beginning a tour with a small band on Friday (October 6th) in Atlanta, which will focus on stripped-down and more intimate performances of new material and some classic material from his solo career and possibly from Fleetwood Mac.

Buckingham still plans to perform again with Fleetwood Mac, and says the band still has potential: "We are all planning on touring sometime in, you know, either late 2007 or the beginning of 2008. And hopefully there are things to be done. I mean, I think there's a lot that the band could still do, even if we don't ever make another album."

Under The Skin is Lindsey's first solo album since 1992's Out of the Cradle. He worked for several years on a solo album called Gift of Screws, but twice he was interrupted by Fleetwood Mac, and much of his solo work wound up on the band's 2002 album Say You Will.

Under The Skin features a cover of the Rolling Stones' "I Am Waiting" from their 1966 album Aftermath. The song was introduced to a new generation of fans when it was featured in Wes Anderson's 1998 comedy Rushmore. Buckingham recorded three other Stones songs during the Gift of Screws sessions, which remain unreleased: "Gotta Get Away," "The Singer Not The Song," and "She Smiled Sweetly."

He will shoot an episode of the CMT series Crossroads with the country group Little Big Town on Thursday (October 5th) in Nashville.

What the hell!? What else can they do besides tour or make an album? I'm going to be very disappointed, if they don't ever make another album.

I dunno, maybe play some songs on their setlist that they haven't played a bazillion times? If that is what he means, he is quite right! They could tour a long time playing songs they haven't hardly, or ever, played. Stupid band.

Jana took it off her calender a week or two ago...I figured it was pushed back yet again. I don't blame them...touring is probably difficult.

For me the main reason for touring is to present new material/a new album to the public. Everything else is revival band behaviour. The Stones did it right the last time on the 89 Urban Jungle/Steel Wheels tour. They performed a lot of the new stuff and also enough things from the past.
Then they started just to play old stuff, so I lost interest. Same with FM. If the majority of people have no interest in your new music screw the tour, concentrate on new albums and play smaller venues with no or very very few old stuff. Neil Young did it. It`s a great way to stay alive musically speaking.
A FM tour under these terms is time-waste imo. Time which could be used making new albums, esp. new LB albums.
