I've had delicious fish and chips on the prom there myself, in recent years - although the seagulls were absolute menaces, watching our every move!

Lots of interesting antiques shops, which might have appealed, but some decidedly dodgy hipster ice cream...

Songbird Cottage

This cottage was named after “Songbird” written by Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac who was the previous owner. She kept all of her records and awards in this building before we lovingly transferred it into another one-bedroomed cottage. With all the modern comforts and touches including underfloor heating, full equipped kitchenette and a stunning sky-light over the shower. It has a king bed that can be turned into singles, a lounge and shower room. Another perfect option for the the bride or groom to get ready for the big day or perhaps parents of the bride or groom.

Sunbeams Room

A large beautiful light-filled room with two big windows over looking the garden and fields. This room has an interesting history previously being Fleetwood Mac - Christine McVie’s bedroom (rock royalty!) when she lived here before the current owners. Sharing a shower room with Chestnut Tree Room.”

However I doubt Christine would have spent much time there..I agree.

I’d love to stay here but my fiancée would go all Lorena Bobbitt on my ass if I even hinted at it.

It was only in reading an English detective novel recently that I learnt that mushy peas with fish and chips is a thing (a character refers to it as "Yorkshire caviar"). I think I'll stick with tartare sauce (or am I missing something amazing?). No argument with mashed peas on a meat pie though.

Tartare sauce very nice but a bit refined for chip shop fish n chips…
Better with brown HPsauce or chip shop curry sauce ….(tomato ketchup at a push)
Mushy peas are not mashed garden peas but a processed marrow fat pea..
Yum….where’s the nearest chip shop.

Just the salt and vinegar for me. Maybe a bit of curry sauce on the chips at a push.

Curry sauce on fish and chips. Mind blown again!

Perhaps it was England's inimitable cuisine that made Chris so desperate to go back to her homeland after The Dance.

Nah, 22+ years of bickering would do anyone in. Wouldn't it?
