I have nothing else to say other than f*ck Stevie Nicks. She can, in the most Australian way possible, go and get f*cked. She is a delusional, self-centred, ungrateful, lying .... (finish this sentence with a word that will have me accused of being a misogynist)! She is rewriting the history of a 60-year-old band.

I was down for a one-off farewell concert, now I never want to hear her warbling, droning, flat singing again. How dare she sully the contributions of the other band members. She cannot play an instrument, she cannot produce or engineer, she hasn't been able to write a song for nearly 30 years.

She was hardly in the studio while Chris and Lindsey painstakingly crafted her two-chord crap over and over again. If she thinks she would be relevant today without the contributions of Chris, Lindsey, Mick and John she is kidding herself. How the hell can Mick read this crap and let Fleetwood Mac's legacy be trashed by its least talented member.

The live arrangements of the Fleetwood Mac songs that her band butcher night after night are embarrassing. Waddy's heavy-handed playing, her basic and boring drummer, that douchebag on the keys...

Stop talking about Lindsey, trashing his reputation, and then throwing in some rote BS about him being an 'Icon' too... but not as big as her. I just hope we don't lose Lindsey first, imagine her sauntering into his funeral attempting to save face, and then having some BS slideshow playing while she butchers another song, f*ck off Stevie.

But most of all, her embarrassing and ill-informed fans. They have no idea about the musicality and nuance of this band. The hours of dedication to crafting art that has allowed them to remain relevant in 2024, which had NOTHING to do with Stevie. Her PR team's irresponsibility in continually perpetuating this exaggerated lie that Lindsey was both emotionally and physically abusive towards her, for god sake think of his poor daughters. The fact she hasn't shut this down and dispelled the constant slander he is subjected to online is completely irresponsible. I will argue this point until my dying days. Come at me, you ridiculous sycophants.

What would Barbara and Jess say, what would Tom Petty say?

This interview has made me incandescent with rage

I guess I had more to say than F*ck her. but, F*CK Stevie Nicks!

i think this exact thought all the time. She would have gone on and on about how awful and hard it was for her to be there, how devastating to watch etc. And i'd bet a million bucks that Chris was well aware of this also! please. there was absolutely no reason for stevie to have been there.

And if she trots out that tired old chestnut "this is the best song I've ever written" one more flipping time.... NO, Stevie, nothing you will write from here on will ever be your best song. That ship sailed a long, long time ago. The thing her solo career revealed is that she doesn't have the trove of "amaaaazing" songs she thinks she does. She has a LOT of songs, and she had a backlog back in the 70s up to Bella Donna because that was her most prolific and frankly the most hungry and creative. Even by WH her trove was thinning out. And then she stopped putting in the same effort.

And I always found it interesting how she just clung to his arm throughout that "we didn't fire Lindsey" interview where they debuted the band with Mike and Neil.
Taking the last point first -- Stevie had a habit of holding on to some band member's arm during the interviews -- sometimes Mick and sometimes Lindsey too. It's just how she likes to present herself.

I can't get over the disconnect over the stuff she is claiming she is going to do versus what we get. There were these amazing demos largely from BN through Tusk/Bella Donna/Mirage period, and when she went to record them, they largely fell flat (sorry, Lindsey, I didn't like Running Through the Garden), especially the 24K Gold ones. Those were some great songs that really needed someone like Lindsey or Jimmy Iovine or even Rupert Hine to work on them. Dave Stewart has done some great stuff, but the 24K Gold album was super bland, and yet it's still the best thing she's done since OSOTM.

But beyond that, there was the children's series, the movie -- now it's perfume? Good grief.

We have gone from Lindsey wasn't fired, he just didn't want to tour and the rest of the band did, and, we don't say "fired" because "it's an ugly word", to everyone now fully acknowledging that he was, in fact, fired after trying to gaslight us for all that time.

"The Church of Stevie"....does this mean she is admitting to worshipping herself?

As I read this interview, I was continuously reminded of the old adage "Never meet your heroes. They'll surely disappoint." Stevie was never close to being my hero, but there was once a time I enjoyed her immensely. Sad to say I'm not only disappointed after reading her nonsense, I'm completely disgusted. She's so delusional (and not in the entertaining eccentric kind of way) and bitter to the core, it's no wonder she can't write a decent song anymore. Not only has she pissed away more musical opportunities than I can count on with two hands, she's now poured gasoline on herself and lit the match.

Clue phone for Stevie - your parents made it to their early 80s and they didn't abuse drugs for 15 years.
Stevie is like a cockroach. She should of been dead long ago, but manages to survive.

I hope not. Because I've read somewhere The only thing that will be left after a nuclear holocaust is Cher and cockroaches. And from everything I already know, I choose Cher to survive after an atomic war.

No, I think that all just happened the way it should have. It happened one night, not planned, at a MusiCares [benefit concert]. I didn’t even tell anybody it had happened in my head until the whole ceremony was over"

So this altercation happened in her head and not in real time?

Sooo.... apparently then...they did the show, and at some point at the show/during the show she decided she was done with Lindsey forever...but she told NO ONE in the band. She instead let everyone go home that night thinking things were business as usually, then at some point obviously calls Irving and tells him....and then uses him as a shield, letting him be the one to tell Lindsey and presumably everyone else. What a chickensh&t move.

And yet to her, it "happened the way it should have"

Because she puts bums in seats, and old Mikey is about the bucks.

God I would hope his wife, even if they are divorced, would put her foot down on that one, like she did when they fired him. She took no prisoners. His kids are too enamored of "Aunt Stevie" to tell her no the way Chris's family did.

Eh…I don’t think Lindsey’s kids are all that enamored with Stevie. The “Aunt Stevie” was probably a thing when they were much, much younger. I bet they have witnessed plenty of the “real Stevie” and know darn well what a two faced, delusional, selfish, pathetic…I’ll stop there.

Yes, it's very sad Sue and jbrownsjr,! These are her own words and sadly have become prophetic!

Oh Stevie, please think about what you're saying! Remember, what you say is going to be part of your legacy. Do you, really, want to be remembered for being an arrogant, self-righteous and cold-hearted person? Is this, really, what 'Stardom' has become to you?

Fifteen years is a long time, and you and your other band mates may not have that long. Please make amends with Lindsey, before it's too late! Just communicate like normal people do, at least for your band's fans and before the 'Eyes Of The World'.

Did you learn nothing from spending time with all the great musicians, who you have worked with over the years and have credited you as an inspiration? Musicians including Sheryl Crow, Dolly Parton Elton John, Belinda Carlisle, The Dixie Chicks, Courtney Love and so many others, who are real 'Stars', and human beings, and who will be remembered for their grace and kind hearts?

Oh Lindsey, continue to believe in 'cycles' and, please, don't become bitter and 'twisted'. I respect you, more that you know!

Just my opinion, as usual!

Stevie is never going to change. It may not be her intent but she comes off so entitled and snobbish. Who can forget her comments about the devastating fires in Hawaii where she lectured the world about her niece (who was never in harms way) that had to leave college early and fly back home in a private jet while at the same time commenting how wonderful and smart her niece is. Its was so tone deaf. People were burned alive, people were missing, billions of dollars of property gone.
This is how her brain operates which is why her cokey babbles of the 1980s were so hysterical. But today...... IT'S NOT THAT FUNNY.

I take it this won't be in a print issue of RS, since it's online? I don't really know of they operate in terms of the physical magazine and the website these days.

I would love if it was, to keep on my bookshelf as a testament to her madness.

I doubt most casual fans found Stevie's answers (of this interview) arrogant. They don't know the whole story, we do.
