Default 1978 hair change

So anyway, all of us know he changed his look in '78. WHat I'd like to know is this: was it a total suprise when it happened, like did he just show up one day and had a different look. Were there rumors of it happening? Just curious.

Well, you could send that question in for John McVie to answer whenever he decides to come back around again to answer questions.

"Well, David, I think we were all shocked and appalled when Lindsey came into the studio without his beard and 'fro..."

Doesn't it say in Mick's book and Lindsey kind of just went crazy with some nail clippers in the shower one day? So, I'm assuming that made it a bit of a shocking surprise.

Whatever happened, I'm sure it was Stevie's fault

I am glad he did it. I just didn't care for the Frankenstein Tusk look. These days the hair is looking yummy.

When did this happen? He still had his shag in February 1978 at the Grammys, but he was shag-free for the tour in July.

He did it for Stevie. He was in love with Stevie & she with him. Stevie took up with Mick for awhile during this general time, & Lindsey nursed his wounds. He cut off his beard & shaggy hair in a twist of Samson Agonistes. Lindsey was suffering his own personal agon.

Finally, in 1997, Stevie came back to him. She had to give him time to heal, & they both decided to cement their love with a kiss in 1997. They also shagged.

When I first saw the picture of clean shaven, short haired Lindsey, I thought the band had got a new guitarist in. A very good looking new guitarist - I definitely approved!

I don't know why he did it.

I'm just really, really glad he did!
