Question Did Stevie Ever Meet Greta Garbo?

I'm doing a project for my Film Criticisim class and I thought that it would be interesting to know if Stevie ever had the chance to meet Garbo. I know that she probably had a chance to seeing as Garbo died April 15, 1990.
BTW, I watched her film "Queen Christina." GREAT film, if you haven't watched I recommend that you do. Just because it isn't new doesn't mean it's not good. We've got proof of that!

Hmmm...interesting question. I have no idea whether she met Greta Garbo but I think Garbo lived virtually as a recluse towards the end of her life...so I don't know

Default Garbo....was

a recluse.....famously stating...

' I vont tu be alone'.......in that wonderful accent of hers...Swedish wasn't it?

It would be nice to think that Stevie got to meet her....

I can almost certainly say that Stevie never met Garbo she was extremely reclusive almost to tha point of pathology and especially in later decades had very limited social contacts out side of a few frinds and people that lived in her Manhattan apartment building. She could afford to be a recluse, back in the day she had bought up blocks of Rodeo drive.

I don't know if she ever met Greta Garbo, but I do remember her telling the audience in Dallas that the cape she was wearing was a gift from Katherine Hepburn.

Default Today...

in my news paper I saw a picture of an ancient 'dowdy' Greta Garbo walking through New York... taken by a photographer back in 1969....

You would not believe she had once been the toast of Hollywood.......

Checking oldest threads, I found funny someone hope Stevie would answer satisfactorily at Ask Stevie. She was so sparing.

Nobody took the obvious opportunity to Ask Stevie, “Dear Stevie, why aren’t your responses longer?”

I want to be alone. It’s a wonder Stevie didn’t make a lyric out of that line.

That one or “Gif me a viskey, and don’t be stingy, baby.”
