Ever notice?
Mick was topless on the Heroes Are Hard To Find cover and Lindsey and Stevie were topless on the Buckingham Nicks cover, their last projects before the two groups merged?

Buckingham Nicks were popular in a city called Birmingham and Christine was from a city called Birmingham?

That the most famous line from their only US number 1 single ("thunder only happens when it's raining") is patently false?

That there are nine tracks by Lindsey and Stevie, almost exactly equal in duration to the length of the Buckingham Nicks album (approx. 35 minutes), between Christine's songs Think About Me and Brown Eyes on the Tusk album?

Yes! That's arguably the only knock I have with Tusk. However, I don't know where I would have put one of Christine's songs in that sequence without killing the flow of the album.

Tusk is the only album that gives Stevie an album side lead with Angel. None of her songs are ever the first track on any album side. Being it was a double album with 4 sides is not much of a bragging point. Stevie also never had the lead single off any Mac album. These were subtle ways of trying to remind everyone that Stevie was not the lead singer of the band. Holding her to only 3 songs held Mirage back because she was on fire during that time. Book of Love or Diane could have been dropped (or both) for Smile At You and Mirage would have been so much better. Even with BTM, the band held to this tradition.

Lots of coincidences there, fun to read through them. I think I wore out my Tusk vinyl back in the day and didn't really pay much attention to Christine's disappearance, but in hindsight, wow, she's barely noticeable through those tracks, but makes up for it from Brown Eyes on. With Mirage, totally agree about Stevie's song count I would say at minimum one more song, definitely Smile at You, but If You Were My Love was pretty close to being fleshed out and could've featured enough Buckingham to axe his weaker songs, which coincidentally, weigh the album down.

But the clouds, never expect it when it rains. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Did you ever notice...
That the album titles on Tango In The Night and Greatest Hits use the same font (I think Times New Roman) and small caps, and that the mingled wash of olive green and yellow on Greatest Hits is similar to part of the sky on Tango In The Night?

Put Book Of Love right back on the album where it belongs, please.
Feel free to sub out Straight Blecch for Smile At You, though. Oh Diane was a surprise hit for the band. It's on the UK and antipodean versions of the Greatest Hits album. I think of it as Fleetwood Mac's Fernando for some reason. I've always appreciated the song on a deeper level since hearing the theory that the lyrics can be heard as "Oh dying" and "life is like a grain of sand, slowly slipping through your hand."

That Lindsey, Christine, and Stevie each have the letter "I" in both their first and last names.

Did you ever notice...
That, at 7 words and 28 letters, What Makes You Think You're The One is the longest song title of a Rumours era album track?
Another Buckingham track, Murrow Turning Over In His Grave, is runner up, at 6 words and 27 letters.
