Default People Magazine 1979 FM Cover Story

Nothing new to alot of you, most likely, but here are People.com's scans for this issue. They're new to me.

I love how she states she was "going back to the gypsy that [she] was" in 1979

This states that Christine and Dennis were planning to marry in February 1980. This may be a dumb question to ask, but what changed their plans??

Chris finally realized that Dennis was insane, and beyond help.

Then her bill came through for that heart shaped flower bed...

My memory is somewhat hazy but I think I remembered reading that she found out he was sleeping with some teen age girl on the side. Plus you know, he kept wrecking her cars and spending her money.

I think that about sums it up.

I wonder how she felt about Lindsey's "D.W. Suite"?

Nancy!!!!
Long, long, long, long, time, no see!
Yes, Dennis was a HOPELESS child(and I know MANY, so I'm an expert on the subject).
I'm sure it was hard, yet I'm sure she was relieved, when she ended it. You can't continually foster that kind of behavior.... there's just no future...

"How did this dingbat manage to get everything she wants?"

I bet that's exactly how it was for her, with those guys.

I really do think the music industry is one of the last refuges of old-style sexism left in the world. Worse, maybe, even than the film industry.

On a sidebar: I was listening to Patti Smith the other day and thinking that there's stuff on 'Horses' that's every bit as narcissistic, self-indulgent and impenetrable as the worst of SN, but Smith got away with it much more because she wasn't pretty and dressed like a man.

That's how it seems to me, anyway.

THANKS for posting the article, btw.

Good to see you again, too!

Sorry to hear you've had to deal with this so much. As for Christine, she'd no doubt seen her share of self-destructive substance abusers, but probably though she could "save" him - then when it became apparent she couldnt...
