![]() LMAO...oh my. You'd think after being lucky enough to have somebody like Christine be so kind to you as an incoming band member that you would pay it forward with the situation with Bekka. Way to be an a**hole. Accusing Bekka of over singing...REALLY? from the woman who literally shredded her voice because of their wailing.
I love that we're starting to hear more and more of these behind the scenes Stevie nuggets.

![]() That was a pretty interesting article. Mick was throwing up in a bucket... ew. And Chris telling her which Stevie songs it would be nice NOT to sing lol. Interesting.

![]() Mick was her best buddy until Stevie decided she was ready to come back and then he fired Bekka via fax. No phone call, nothing.
Stevie's people told FM she would do no more than 2 or 3 shows a week and that's it. Stevie met her and was a condescending biatch "Oh she's blonde?" "She oversings" Kinda funny that last bit when you think about it. John and Mick are super critical of the band's and each other's performance after each show (even without Chris or Stevie or Lindsey in the band) Mick was throwing up in buckets during shows. Christine's wine spritzers were more a tiny bit wine and a whole lotta spritzer. Chris was nice to her and gave her blessing for Bekka singing some of Chris's songs. Plenty of coke with Mick, John, and the rest when Bekka was in the band but they kinda did it away from her as she didn't do coke. Beck's role was to be part of keeping the band going until Stevie was ready to come back. No mention of LB or even Chris. Just the band hingeing everything on what Stevie did.

![]() There's such a long list of people that Stevie and Mick have sh*t on over the years. People who stepped in to save their a**es in a business, behind the scenes kind of way. They owe a lot of people some credit.

![]() This was really thorough and an interesting interview. I appreciate Bekka just being her and not giving a rats behind about her answers. Compare this to anything Lindsey, Stevie, or Mick would ever do. I can see why her and Chris got along - they both seem to be real (as real as superstars like Chris can be).
I’m also reminded that Christine McVie was the best person in Fleetwood Mac. |

![]() Loved the lunchbox story.
The thing I want to know is why do they all come back to Mick?!? Like, ALL of them?

I found this interview to be incredible. This interviewer really does his homework! I even loved the questions about Bekka’s time as a back up vocalist on Belinda Carlisle’s tour. I can’t believe Bekka was only 17 when she did that. N the concert that was released on VHS and later DVD, Bekka is quite prevalent. I haven’t read the entire interview yet, but I’m going to later. So far, it’s must read. |

![]() What a great interview. It's a shame there hasn't been much more from her about her experiences with FM since 1995. I quite liked this answer. "These Strange Times" was a pretty apt title for a song on an album like "Time" and I'm glad it made it onto it. No wonder Mick himself ended up playing guitar on it!
It’s nice that you and Mick Fleetwood are still tight. When we did the Time record, I was the little tiny baby penguin poking out of the shell [on the cover]. That’s me, he said. The penguin is their spirit animal. It’s just a big white album with a tiny penguin poking out of the egg. “That’s Bekka!” Isn’t that lame? But it’s cool. Anyway, there was this one song that everyone f*ckn’ fought against him. Mick said to me, “Nobody let me do any of my songs on any of these records.” I was like, “What now? Say what? Did you just say that? What now, Mick?” He said, “Ain’t none of my songs on here. They never let me do a song I did myself.” And he wrote a song called “These Strange Times.” I fought for it. Christine wouldn’t do it. They wouldn’t do it. Billy is always Switzerland. Dashut didn’t know what to do. So we went literally across the street and cut this thing, and then we got Lucy to go “Daddy, Daddy.” It’s called “These Strange Times.” It’s the last song on the record. Anyway, I’m sitting here in Nashville now. He’s sitting over there in Maui. I said to him a few years ago, “You should put that song out again, dude.” He goes, “Let’s redo it, me and you.” I said, “I’m here.” He got Rick Vito to play guitar on it. He got a great band. I sang 12 languages on it. It came out a couple of years ago.

Apparently John objected to the mention of God in that song, and Mick was trying to explain how it was all about his individual struggles and journey, not supposed to be any sort of religious preaching by using that word. (I wonder if chris felt the same as john...?) it was like 3/4 of the letter and i remember i felt kind of bad for mick, having to beg to get one of his ideas on the album. it was actually a nice letter. but i guess in the end he won everybody over. --Lis |
