For some reason I just don't see John ever playing again. He sold all his basses at that auction, he's not in great health, and Chris is gone. I just have a feeling he is finished, and has shut that door.

I would imagine that Chris's older brother was with her, as they were very close... And maybe Dan, as they seemed to have a close relationship as well.. John Perfect is 83 years old right now, so maybe Dan was helping get him to the hospital etc during all that awful time.

I also have to confess that part of me would like to believe that maybe John was with her as well. They were like family. If her brother etc knew things were looking very bad on Saturday, they could have informed him as to the severity of the situation. He would have had time to get there... As well as time to get back for that wretched auction.

Back in 1995,we used to email pretty regularly, as FM weren't doing much of anything w the flop of Time. But I clearly remember when Mick's sister died of cancer in October, he was devastated-- he said that even though they knew it was coming, it was still a shocker. I remember i sent him a lovely poem that we had got from marty's synagogue, at some service....about life being a journey, and death a destination, which he appreciated.

Obviously his relationship with Chris was a thousand times closer than with Susan Fleetwood. I can't fathom that if he knew she was dying, that he wouldn't go there. i guess he's older, and now a bit frail in terms of health, and it's a long flight, so who knows. and i guess it also depends on how much the family shared. but unless i hear otherwise, in my heart i want to believe that he was there.
