Default 1984 album: Favorite side

Though it seemed to be obvious, I wanted to verify the songs per side. Hard to find a picture.

So choose your fave side

Side 1
1. "Love Will Show Us How" Christine McVie, Todd Sharp 4:14
2. "The Challenge" McVie, Sharp 4:40
3. "So Excited" McVie, Sharp, Billy Burnette 4:05
4. "One in a Million" McVie, Sharp 5:02
5. "Ask Anybody" McVie, Steve Winwood 5:29

Side 2
6. "Got a Hold on Me" McVie, Sharp 3:53
7. "Who's Dreaming This Dream" Sharp, Daniel Douma 3:35
8. "I'm the One" Sharp 4:05
9. "Keeping Secrets" Sharp, Alan Pasqua 3:34
10. "The Smile I Live For" McVie 5:07

My vote is for side one, so many fabulous moments. No matter what you do, love is a challenge to you better love him while you can, fantastic. One in a Million is my favourite, I love that side of Christine. Side two is just slightly weaker after Got a Hold on Me. IT's a great album though and love it that she decided to do her own solo record (her words).

I'll go with side one, just because it has "One In a Million," my favorite song on the record.

This is a tough one. To my way of thinking, the album’s best song is “Smile” but side one is hands down more consistent and more interesting overall. And the last two songs on side 1 are amazeballs, especially “One in a Million,” which is only a nominal second place to “Smile.”

No—I take it back. “Smile” and “One” are equally great and encapsulate two very different aspects of Christine’s style.

Side 1 easily. Ask Anybody and One in a million are spectacular. Missing Smile hurts but have to go overall

Both sides are fantastic. I'm going with 2 because of Smile. It's such a beautiful album closer.

I'm surprised no contemporary has picked up Smile for a cover, the song is that good. More people should hear it.

It's really moving. Sometimes she goes above and beyond.

Honestly, probably not my favourite Christine album.
However, The Challenge, So Excited and One in a Million is a lovely run of songs, so side 1 overall is better (I really don't love Whose Dreaming This Dream)
Overall though, The Smile I Live For is equal to anything she's every done. Does anyone else think it's quite similar in tone and structure to Carnival Begin? (Lindsey influence?)

Those are two of my favorite songs of hers. I really love both of them.
