Are you sure you didn’t confuse me with Bwboys? People are always getting the two of us confused!

The last couple of years have been a challenge for most of the fans, but at the end of the day it’s nice to be able to share the love of the music with each other. Especially more so now, you know.

We both love the Billy/Rick years.

I'm hoping it turns out to be a little medley, like they did for Linda Ronstadt at the RRHOF.
It would be so nice if they surprised us with a medley. Songbird is the obvious choice for a tribute to Christine, but this trio seems more suited to songs like SYLM, YMLF, even Everywhere.

I'm just nervous because it's a tough song to sing.

My take on why the 4 of them are not part of the tribute as a whole:

1. They all felt it was too soon to come together as a group, it would of been too emotional to get through. Similar to how Mike Campbell talks about not being ready to fire up the Heartbreakers without Tom being there. Yes, Fleetwood Mac operated without Christine for many years, but circumstances are different now.

2. 3 of the 4 agreed to do it with one member declining.

3. Irving is driving decisions behind the scenes, including who's being involved and who isn't. For a variety of reasons.

Maybe I’m cynical, but I also think there’s a possibility that a very very brief tribute is not the venue to bring the 4 remaining members together again.

In other words, if management has anything to say about it, they’re going to hold out for the publicity and or money that a real reunion would mean, not just a 2 minute clip .

Also, John would hate being a part of this, I think. He would be uncomfortable and it would be awkward.

Adding to my previous post… although I’m thrilled and thankful the Grammy awards is going to recognize Christine’s passing, I’m already preparing myself that it’s going to be so brief. I’m thinking a 3 minute tribute. Better to prepare for the worst, etc. I hope I’m wrong but we’ll see.

Usually they just roll quick face clips of all the artists that have passed since last year's awards. Unless someone knows different, it will be a flash in the pants along with everyone else. The medley featuring songs will all be mashed together. The Silver Girl herself is going to sing Chris bits?

I agree...I really don't think John would do anything like this, ever. I honestly think he is done.

I myself am not one who enjoys hearing people covering other people's songs...tribute or no tribute. the cover just usually falls way short of hitting any mark. IMO a more effective tribute would be a little montage of her amazing decades long career, played to clips of her most popular songs. mick can say a little something on the band's behalf.

but the idea of bonnie raitt or whoever doing songbirg?? come on. it just makes me cringe.

I agree 100%. I would rather see a photo montage and video clips running the gamut from her early blues days to Buck/Vie, with Mick saying a few words.

I don’t have a problem with Sheryl Crow or Bonnie Raitt, but I’m not sure how their rendition of Songbird is going to work out. Heck, even Mick saying a few words, followed by a video of Christine singing Songbird would seem to be a more fitting tribute. But like everyone else, I’ll be tuning in hoping it does Christine justice.

I would definitely like to see a nod back to her early blues influence.
With John and maybe Steve Winwood coming on for one song.
