Because their ministers tell them God will smite them with horrible things if they do not insist the American Govt. officially recognize Christianity as the one true religion of this country.

There are so many examples of this - like putting a several ton granite monument of a trumped up version of the 10 Commandments in the middle of the night in the rotunda in the entrance of the AL courthouse - paying for it with taxpayers money - saying it is the law - and then acting like you are being persectued by evil non-believers who want to do away with God in all aspects of private life when you are told to remove it. No one was persecuting that judge. He is free to believe whatever he wants. All he was told was he cannot put that tablet in the courthouse with taxpayers money and say it is the law. There is a huge difference between the two events. Yet, most people cannot make the distinction and they will continue to think any attempt to sep. church and state is an attack on their personal ability to believe in God.

Because secular liberals are at war with Christianity and trying to eradicate it from everything. Its the Christians that are persecuted, they are the victims in this country.

They get it so twisted!

I know - I mean why is it so important to have the govt. validate your religious beliefs. What purpose does it serve? I can see none other than to whip the people into believing which means more $$$$$.

Because it makes them feel more strongly that they're right and everyone else is wrong.
