Bob Welch solo, or the version where the harmony vocals don't sync up?

The one that Christine produced, and sung on in 1977.

It's ALWAYS bugged me that their phrasing doesn't sync.

He does. (I’ve observed him complaining about this before.) But I don’t hear un-synched voices. I hear counterpoint and syncopation.

I love the counterpoint of that version. She does it live, too. I think Bob had some intonation problems in that song. One of the live versions I heard. But, I still love the original. Homer can suck a teat.

On Saturday morning, my local grocery store was playing Talk To Me as I walked in. The next day (Sunday), I went back to get one more item and As Long As You Follow was playing as I was walking in again.

That's what made it cool and difficult to sing along with

From a production standpoint, it's LAMEZVILLE, man. Sloppy.

And I ain't suckin' on y'all's salty geriatric teats.

No. No. No.

Its not lazy. Its cool. I love when backing vocals are a step ahead or a step behind the lead vocalist. Come on now. You realize how many great songs this occurs. You've been staring at the stairs a little too long now.

In the 1987 live version of Everywhere you had tears of joy when Stevie would come in early "I wanna be with you" and beat Christine to the chorus.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

I want any wall of sound to be smooth. No rough edges showing. Starting and stopping a half second off from the lead sucks. It's distracting and sloppy.

Watching Eagle's rehearsals, I'm sure Glenn had a problem with this as well, as he'd complain about hearing "too many dropoffs", when they were working on harmony singing. And The Eagles obviously trump FM.

Stevie could have never sung with Glenn then.

BTW, its called Rock N Roll. Rough edges are SUPPOSED to show.

Just imagine how tough a night Sharon has when she has no idea what verse Stevie will forget, start singing the chorus early or late and she has to spontaneously go along. And yes, I would say that to Bob Dylan.
