R.I.P. David Lindley
Oh, my God - in the last few months they just seem to fall like apples from the trees! With David Lindley another giant has left us yesterday once and for all. The king of the lap steel guitar and countless other stringed instruments - and "Prince Of Polyester" - had inspired me to switch from bottleneck to lap steel and I'd learned most of my own playing skills from David. And this very version of "Mercury Blues" was my appropriate introduction to him in 1981:
