Just noting that The Trader's Den has the following set now available:

Ay, there's some gold here for ye maties willing to dig fer it.
But some words of caution first for ye.....

The sound quality on some of these tracks..........let's see........I think the technical term is..........SUCKS.

I mean it, folks. I have slaved over them with cooledit and you just can't raise the dead sometimes. People like Mickboy, God Bless Him, can do wonders, but I don't know that even a recording studio could fix some of these. Everything has been de-clicked, re-mixed, and hiss has been shaved. Some I speed corrected, but truly I guessed about right speed as I wasn't familiar with the songs involved.

I've chosen to bookend the torrent with great quality songs that somehow got missed for the legit BBC set, but in between, there's a lot that was taped from the radio on a bad mike and the reception was pretty bad. (If you have Fairport Convention doing 'Things You Gave Me' in 1967, you know the quality I mean).

But there are some gems here--Crudup's Mean Old World is great, as is Green's faux Muddy waters vocals on You Need Love (aka Zep's Whole Lotta Love). Jeremy was born to sing Yonder's Wall, and I'm not a Jeremy fan. And then there's Robert Johnson's Dead Shrimp Blues, the highlight. Taped during a raging thunderstorm, this is Green with no accompaniment just playing solo and jeez, is it passionate. I worked a long time on this, trying to cut the volume on each static crackle. Someone said that in the late 60's,it seemed like 3 people in the UK had the Johnson US lp: Keith, Clapton, and Green. Green was the only one who had the guts to play a song like Johnson, naked and unadorned.

The 3 tracks with Christine are better quality and are rare as hell. I know a lot of people who adored Kiln House. I closed with an alternate Oh Well that features part of the quiet ending. Seemed only fair, since this was Green's show.

Fleetwood Mac BBC 1967-1971(?)

FM>unknown Transfer (probably reel taped from radio with mikes)>
cassette(x)>CDR(0)>EAC>cooledit (tirelessly)>FLAC

2. I Need Your Love
3. May I Have a Talk With You
4. Shady Little baby
5. Wine Whiskey & Women
6. Lazy Poker Blues
7. My baby
8. Love That Burns * Post Green sessions w/ Christine
9. Yonder's Wall
10. Psychedelic Song
11. Dead Shrimp Blues (!)
12. Fool That I Used To be
13. Dragonfly *
14. Start Again *
15. Get Like You Used To Be *
16. You need Love
17. Watch Out For Me
18. Oh Well (version 2) (Parts 1 and 2)

I have seen 3 different titles for the 'psychedelic song,' it's just a joke track anyway (albeit with some wld guitar). You guys can debate what the title should be. Sorry about no dates, but I'm sure someone will put a URL up. I'm pretty tired of hearing some of this stuff frankly and, in the spirit of community, hope you guys will share info.

Thanks for reading all my BS. Next time I'll shut up.
Todd
