I am fortunate in that my 360 has not done this to me yet. I have a bunch of other consoles, so I wouldn't be completely without game-age, but I would still be mighty upset.

Is it still under warranty? Or are you going to crack it open and try to fix it yourself? I hear a lot of Red Rings are caused by heat damage - you might be able to save it, depending on what got fried and how, if that's the cause.
