Default Go Insane Poll

Okay, time for album #2. This one's harder for me to vote on as I'm not a big 80's fan. I prefer the acoustic version of Go Insane to any of the picks I make here. What are your top 3?

i love a lot of Go Insane... although overall sound as you say is a little grating to me at times, and i'm not always in the mood to listen to this album.

but other than songs i voted for, i also love Loving Cup and Play in the Rain (continued).

and i'm a huge fan of DW Suite and both versions of Go Insane.

the song i absolutely cannot stand is Slow Dancing (even if video is sexy).

not my favorite. seems very thin to me-- or it did at the time, haven't played in loooooong time. makes me feel i should go dig it out. realllllllly didn't like dw suite, despite its inspiration and all that.

gotta find it and give a listen again!

should say though that loved the promo poster, which hung prominently in my dorm room!

Michele, you shouldn't cheat!

I voted for GO INSANE, DW SUITE, and the last one. I can't remember the name of it because when you're commenting in a thread, you can't scroll up to see the poll entries.

Law & Order was much easier, because I don't have a large number of favourites on it. However, as the years go by in his discography, I tend to like more and more of each album (as a rule, not completely) and thus this is more difficult, lol.

Slow Dancing and Loving Cup have been my top two since I first heard the album, for some reason, and I was tempted to leave Go Insane out for I Want You, but couldn't do it.

Your choices were mine too! Go Insane, Slow Dancing, and Loving Cup.

I voted Play In The Rain. On my CD that is one track. So I voted for the whole thing.

Go Insane - Such a great song and fun to listen to. The fact that he turned it on its head as a wrenching acoustic piece is fantastic.

Slow Dancing - Such a weird 80's song. I enjoy it.

Loving Cup - The album contains so many sexual lyrics...and this song is no different. I really enjoy the groove of this song.

It was tough for me to single out individual favorites, because I've always viewed this album as one continuous work vs individual songs. It's almost like some sort of deranged alien experimental opera, and I ADORE that about it.

Go Insane: Such an iconic song, and a peek inside Lindsey's psyche at the time. The chorus especially has a great riff.

Slow Dancing: In it's bizarre, wacky, otherworldly way, this is a beautiful little romance song.

DW Suite: Obviously this is the pinnacle of Lindsey at his most experimental. Go Insane (the album) is in many ways a collage of sonic found art, and this song is a microcosm of that.

Not enough love for the best songs of the album???? Hahahaha I mean, I Want You, I Must Go, Play In The Rain, Bang The Drum and DW Suite, of course...
Even when I really like all the songs frm this album, which is a piece of art, I think the five above (six, with the second part of Play In The Rain) are really beautiful. Of course I've got my piece of credit to the rest of the songs, the original Go Insane -the one and only-, Slow Dancing -it's ok-, and Loving Cup -nice-.
Regards!
