Hi all,

Long time, no chat. I'll admit that when the Mac is on hiatus I'm not as faithful at popping by the board, but I promise, my fandom is in full swing. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has an mp3 version of this take of Gypsy.

Mine cuts off at 45 seconds for some reason and I just love the organ in it. Can anyone help me out? If you're looking for something, I probably don't have it (haha) but go ahead and ask.

Just wondering if anyone has the actually mp3 ripped from the analogue tape. Curious if there'd be any quality improvement over the youtube rip

Wow, these are the vocals they used for the final version. Up until the bridge, that is. It gets a bit sloppy beyond that, so I see why they didn't cull much from the bridge onward, but I'm still feeling it.

Actually,some of the parts at end (around where she goes "but I still see.... your bright eyes) was used in the final version as well, and if you listen to the version that was on The Chain box set you can hear the all those ad libs. They were just lost when the song was edited for the album.

I really think there is a longer recording of this version floating around because I used to have it on a bootleg cassette. If you listen very closely just before it fades out completely you can hear a downward sloping "Oooh... see your bright eyes" and if you go find the video you'll hear those same vocals shortly after Lindsey's guitar solo starts. And I swear there's a version where those vocals happen before the fadeout. But I could be wrong.
