Default Axl Rose Picked By AC/DC As New Lead Singer

I'm not a fan of either Axl Rose or AC/DC. Just sharing this for those who are fans on this board.
Here's the link: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/m...tour/83162440/

Have a great morning/afternoon/evening wherever you live.

I hope it works out too, I guess. I'm not a fan at all of Mr. Rose or AC/DC, so I really have no clue what to say about this.

If Axl makes it through a whole tour with them
I'll be surprised.

Not my business, but sometimes people need to
know when to quit.

Back in their heyday G 'n' R were amazing. Amongst the noise are some very beautiful melodies.

Unfortunately Axl did become more than just a bit of a petulant, childish diva that lost any sense of humility, normality or reality. As has been noted, I wonder if he'll manage to keep things together for the entire remainder of the tour. I hope playing for another band will empower him with a sense of loyalty that will allow him to manage to control his impulses.

Terrible. In some ways it is logical but I don't think Axl's personality or temperament belongs in this band. Maybe he's using it as a warm up gig for something else idk.

AC/DC had their roots in quite simple pub rock. No matter how big they got they never went too far from that format either. It was always straight up unpretentious rock, they were never trying to be too clever or sophisticated, or reinvent the wheel.

(However, Angus and Malcolm Young do have an older brother called George Young who was famous first with The Easybeats and then in the 1970s was doing experimental work and wrote some music that was distinctly different in nature to AC/DC.)

I did like early Guns N Roses and being Australian, grew up with the pub rock that I think partly influenced G'n'R. But totally bewildered by this lineup. There are rumors that Brian Johnson was actually pushed out rather than retired. Just a bad move after all this time IMO should have just closed up entirely.

Thumbs down I wonder why...

the press releases havent stated that Axl is only singing with AC/DC to finish up the cancelled shows, and nothing more.

IMO AC/DC should call it a day...I know I recently read Aerosmith will do a farewell tour in 2017, Rush has called it a day touring wise and some other bands are following (Or planning to do so) suit.

I understand your point of about patience. The music never click with me like todays current pop and country tunes.I could not get into it .I probably can deal listening to their balleds.
I just dont like the screaming and guitar noise.

The only thing I probably like with these bands is their big hair.LOL.They probably spend more time with their hairdresser/makeup person then a average woman.

We have to remember when the boys replace Lindsey in 1987 and some of us thought it was over for FM.Of course there was no internet and its social networks then for us fans can put our opinions out about the change in FM .If this is only a temp thing with AC/DC .It probably OK with the fans.Probably most or some fans that like AC/DC probably are Guns and Roses fans so they probably happy.

Absolutely! AC/DC had already been through a big line up change when their original singer Bon Scott died in 1980. They could have split up then but recruited Brian Johnson who became well accepted by the fans and was with them until recently. I just don't get it at this late stage. It's been claimed by someone that Johnson could have finished out this tour. I hope that they will close up the band at the end of this run. But just a bad note to finish such a long legacy if they continue much longer.

G'n'R are of course known for their metal but now and then they would do something more sophisticated or a sensitive ballad. I don't think AC/DC ever did anything like a sentimental love song. So I can only see Axl Rose being a temporary stand in and perhaps warming up for something else in the future.

If something happens to one of the members of Fleetwood Mac, I hope they retire the band instead of trying to continue with someone else 20 years younger. But just the way I feel.
