Fire (more specifically, being horribly scarred by fire...when I was a kid, my grandmother made me watch a TV movie about that boy whose dad took him to a hotel and set the room on fire...I was scared to be alone at night for a whole year...that's when I started taking baths in the mornings )

Heights

Right-wing Christians

Getting cancer

I'm not really scared of the boogeyman per se....but I am scared of being alone. When my husband leaves for a weekend (which is rare, so this may be why..ppl who are used to being by themselves I don't think get this way as much) I lock my bedroom door. I've even been known to put a chair under the knob. I'm terrified of someone breaking in. I have two dogs that are barkers to the core. I'm scared of someone breaking in and having to decide what I am going to do with them. Am I going to hide in the closet with them and risk the intruder hearing them bark..(ha..risk it? It's a certainty LOL) or leave them out and have to listen to them get killed. I guess it's the same (or similar) to having a child and them crying. You can tell I've given this some thought from time to time! It's been an ongoing dilemma that terrifies me and I hope I'm never in that position....but it's makes me nauseous thinking about it.

o.k....ramble ramble...

I keep a steak knife in my bedroom. Just in case. No idea what I think I'm going to do with that if a guy with a gun breaks in.

I'm just the opposite. I don't like shots, by any means, but I can tolerate them... except in my mouth! I freak out! I had braces as a kid, and my baby teeth weren't falling out fast enough. So they had to pull 8 teeth over two appointments. The first appointment, they pulled 5. They gave me 2 shots for every tooth, and it hurt like hell! When it was over and we were getting ready to leave, my mom and the nurse noticed I was white as a sheet. They made me sit down and put my head between my knees because I apparently was ready to pass out! Ever since then, I freak out at the thought of shots in my mouth.

Other things I'm afraid of:
heights
roller coasters (partly the height, and partly because I can't stand feeling like I'm falling)
public speaking (terrified of it!)
rodents, particularlly rats (I actually have nightmares on a regular basis about rats chasing me and crawling on me! )

vampire movies? I like the genre....Have several movies, Like "Underworld" as the newest one (Did just see "Blacula" on one of the movie channels, That is one Eff-up movie.)

If ya really want to get scared try reading Stephen King's "The Stand" (Get the uncut version) and read it at nighttime when yer all alone.

Wicked. That's pretty scary...I must admit that I would love to see that filmed in a movie.

It takes alot to scare me. I've been desensitized from all the horror movies and the dark side of life.

Organized religion scares the heck out of me.

Spiders. Hate them.
And operations. Never had one but the thought of being cut open gives me nightmares.

see..spiders don't bother me.
it's all about the snakes when it comes to creepy crawlies

anyway..as far as the operations..I've had one and it went superbly.
BUT..I was terrified of being operated on and being conscious, but not being able to move or tell them I could feel everything. Yeah..I've heard the stories. Why do people tell you this crap right before you go under the knife?? haha

No one else has a problem w/ the Ring chick huh? WTF? AM I just that old a fart now? I totally grew up on horror films, LOVE them, but that one...me no likey. Actually I DO love the movie. It's a great story. Hell of a ghost story, but just the choppy shots, etc. Yikes.

Spiders, what a funny thing. SO many people fear them. What is it about them? And when it comes to snakes, I'd see the reason behind that more so, as they are so popular within the bible/religion and in fairy tales. I can only think of maybe 2 spider instances (and those are kiddie fairy tales. Little Miss M & C's web...but neither are really scary)...so what gives?
