Wow. Good to know! But that's my fear...I've always had such an obsessive/excessive/addictive personality, I fear that I woudn't be able to stop - which is actually a contributing factor of me not wanting to do the coke.

But I've heard that acid is not actually addictive in the way that herion, coke and such are? I never had a problem walking away from pot..and my obsessive/addictive personality has lessened over the years.

Acid is still on my list of things to do.

The depressing hour though...does not sound good...is that common?

You know, I don't know. For me, it's always there. So, I just wouldn't do it, if something bad were going on at the time. But, as long as nothing terrible was going on in my life, it was tolerable. As I said, it does make you examine your life.....well, everything's not always peaches, so you do examine those aspects, too.(i.e. - my life's going nowhere, etc...)
After my friend's suicide, I just got out of the habit.
And no, I don't think it's addictive. Talking about it is making me miss the laughing. UNCONTROLLABLE laughing!

Hm...yeah, this thread is bringing back all sorts of memories...such as I just remembered a night back in '99...my friend Nigel dropped acid, then came over to where the rest of us were hanging out...he was a trip just to watch...of course he wouldn't stop humping the trees...but it was amusing to watch

Hmm...sounds like Acid wouldn't be something to try right at this point in my life...I get freaked out enough examining things while sober...but someday when circumstances are right...perhaps.

I do miss the laughing jags of pot as well...but those stopped the last two times I did it..no more uncontrollable laughter...but I always did enjoy that.

The last time I did acid was at a Grateful Dead concert. Yes folks, Jerry Garcia was still alive and Carlos Santana was on the tour with them and Bruce Hornsby was on keyboards because their other keyboard player OD'd. Santana had been busted in Texas a few days before the show here with a rather large amount of weed if memory serves. No one was sure if he was going to make it to the show because he was in jail or something. Anyway, I digress. Some guy in a mad hatter hat like Tom Petty used to wear turned around and handed me a blotter. I was in a stdium with 70,000 or so people. Luckily the acid was mellow and I'll never forget watching the almost full moon rise over the stadium. It was a very nice evening.
Before that I hadn't done acid since high school and one of the better trips I had was watching this guys face melt into the shape of a cow's while listening to the most amazing rendition (to my high as a kite ears) of The Hollies The Air That I Breathe. Every time I hear that song, I think of Tony's face melting into the shape of a cow and me laughing at the poor guy because I just couldn't help it. That time it was just four of us hanging out at Tony's place listening to his really cool stereo that he had purchased in Japan while he was in the service. There was even a lava lamp!

I vaguely recall experiencing something like that myself.

I guess I'm just a goody-goody that way.

Same here. I don't even like to be around second-hand smoke. And no matter how many times my friends over the years have tried to get me to try pot, I've never had even the slightest interest.

I'm not embarrassed by it in the least.
Not in an "I'm better than other people because I've never smoked or done drugs" kind of way -- I'm just proud that, despite my high-strung, anxiety-prone personality, I've managed to avoid turning to cigarettes or drugs to self-medicate or calm the nerves.

I will have an occasional glass of red wine, but even then it's very rarely and I've never been anywhere close to drunk.

None of the above. It's not glamorous and you don't need it young man. You're creative all on your own.
