It does seem very odd that Warner/Reprise hasn't done a deluxe edition of this. It's a major cash grab opportunity and low-hanging fruit at that.

There are at least 4 songs that were not on the CD, they could stretch it to a 2 CD set. Even though the film wasn't shot in digital, I'm sure there is some amount of remastering that could be done.

Really clean audio of the irvine meadows show that was broadcasted on the radio would be really great to have too.

That's right. Gold Dust Woman, Over My Head, Go Insane, and Gypsy weren't included. A lost opportunity to include on a double vinyl in the least. Other Ledgies including yourself have pointed out that, unfortunately, the show wasn't filmed in widescreen (what the F were they thinking??) so yes, maybe not much can be done as far as the footage.

However, because the show was filmed over a couple of nights, I think a lot of us would really love to see the video from those performances.

Or, at the very least, a deluxe CD set.

It was 1997

That’s one thing I have a hard time being super critical of since HDTV wasn’t really a thing for most consumers in 1997.

Yeah, that's true. But you know, look at something from the 70s like The Last Waltz, or even Rattle and Hum from late 80s... they were in widescreen. But both those releases were technically "movies" so I suppose they're in a different league in terms of budget(s).

Don’t forget Songbird!

I managed to get all of those on CD single B-sides around the time, but really want at least a version of the full Tv concert that I can listen to all the way through.

1997!!
Don't worry, El Último Concierto ("The Last Concert") by Soda Stereo (the best rock band from here from Argentina) was released in 1997, and then remastered and "re-released" almost ten years later, and it sounds even better than before, and the image on the newest DVD is better than the original VHS, and was filmed probably with the same technology than The Dance!
So that's a point that makes me keep my hopes, because I know that we can have a good work on video too!
Like with other recent FM releases, would be great to have and expanded deluxe edition, not only with those songs which were not originally included, but also with the Irvine Meadows songs!

I’ve been obsessing on The Dance this weekend. Would loooove a deluxe edition.

Reading through this thread and all your ideas, I really hope it happens.

Would love to hear Oh Daddy, Songbird and GDW from a different city.

I love the Songbird from the 1997 Rumours 20th anniversary segment. We don't get the full song but Chris playing the piano by herself in a studio in 1997 sounded so good. I wish somehow that particular version was released. Nothing fake or edited about it. She tells the story of Songbird and plays it. That version has always stuck with me. I wanted the version so much and wanted to play it at my mother's funeral many years ago.

Too much of the Dance is overly polished. I even suspect many parts of the USC band was overdubbed into the live performance. I like raw live music warts and all.

I got all those songs, including Songbird, at CD stores in the 90s. They were included in CD singles (Landslide, SS, etc.) from The Dance. I ripped them so I don't have the CDs neither the cd covers anymore, but I found this link. This was one of the CDs I bought:
