Has anybody found a good video in the web of their performance that day? I remember I found one but very poor quality.

Well, I know the Bengals are playing the Bills today, but I don’t know which day you’re asking about.

Pic brings back some memories, not all of them pleasant. I was milling about the newsroom at the paper I worked for when this aired (after everyone was already sick of the song in the week or two running up to the inauguration), and I got to enjoy my colleagues (including the TV critic) hooting and guffawing at the Mac in a rather sad state on TV. The band should have done whatever it took to pull it together. The whole experience was cringe.

I am glad I was not the only one that did not think it was a great performance. The excitement of seeing Lindsey perform with them again sort of over came the performance. It just sounded awkward and it was. Pretending to play yet singing is odd.

It was just bad. Should have rehearsed 10 days.

I'm guessing there may have been technical and logistical reasons to do with the staging of the event that may have meant that only the vocals could be performed live, so Mick and John must have felt like spare parts. Having said that, the whole thing looks pretty awkward, especially for poor old Lindsey whose guitar miming is not great. The only thing worse than that is Chelsea Clinton's bizarre hand clapping- I'll bet she got ribbed mercilessly for that by her friends, poor thing.

I just remember another oddity was how the song would never end. I get that they wanted the song to play out and make it become a sing along for everyone. But the song never ended and I dont think they showed the band bringing it in for a landing. It just would not end. I remember thinking I want to see how they end this but I dont think they showed or my memory is off. Did the video show the song ending?
Because they invited the president elect, his family and others on stage maybe they viewed it as a distraction that could impact their playing and decided to play it safe with a pre-recorded track.

Sometimes Homer says WHO, WHO
If you know tell her
tell her now
