This is a really stupid question, but...
Do most of the songs on Lindsey's sol albums sound like 50s music?

No. Very LITTLE of his solo music sounds '50s.
"It Was I", "Love From Here, Love From There", "Trouble", "Say We'll Meet Again" are about the only ones that do.

"Oh Diane"
From '81 - '82 most of his work then was 50s influenced. Probably cause he was going through his father's old record collection after he passed away.

The question was "music on his solo albums". "Oh Diane" was obviously on a Fleetwood Mac album.

i don't think we need to be that technical chiliD b/c it came out around the same time as his solo records. And it fairly obvious that "law and order" and his songs on "mirage" are similar.
Some of the songs on law and order sound 50's-ish like "it was I" "love from here, love from there, and "A satisfied mind." If I'm not mistaken, some of those are covers of old 50's tunes. On an interesting note, Mick Fleetwood recorded a song by the Buckinghams on his "the Visitor" album, in return, one of the cover songs on "Law and Order" was a song originally by the Fleetwoods. |

Actually, chilid and Bluegrass are BOTH wrong...
He asked about Lindsey's SOL albums...meaning sun in Spanish...Lindsey's sun albums...and YES, they were most DEFINITELY influenced by the 50's. LMAO!!
His most popular tunes are: Shadow of the (Sun Sets in the) West That's How We Get Tan In LA It Was I (Who Was Sunbathing Naked on the Roof) Play in the Sun I Must Go (It's Hot Out Here!!) Sun Drifter Surrender the Sun But seriously folks...Oh Diane is IMO, THE most 50's influenced Lindsey song...sounding like it could be a cover. It Was I comes in as 2nd most influenced. I like that sound from Lindsey, it fits him.

No...nothing to do with Fleetwood Mac...they were a group back in the 1950's. http://www.thefleetwoods.com/
What song of The Fleetwoods did Buckingham do? I know Bob Welch (with Christine on backing vocals) did "Come Softly To Me" on his Three Hearts album, but I don't recall Lindsey doing a cover of any song by "The Fleetwoods". And what song of the Buckinghams did Mick do? I know he covered Lindsey's "Walk A Thin Line", but I see no other song on The Visitor that was originally a Buckinghams (as in "Kind of A Drag", "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy", etc)
