You know, that sort of thing. After Tusk and Bella Donna, there were doubts FM would make another album. That’s the only thing I can think of.
Even Pitchfork acknowledged the ambiguity surrounding Mirage's title.

"It’s hard to find any comment about why they chose to name their thirteenth record (and fifth under this lineup) Mirage, though the resonance is obvious in hindsight: It’s the illusion of the band, rather than the full-blooded beast."

What is this Mike Pence OBSESSION you have? You watch Mike Pence porn while you're doing the rattlesnake shake?
You and Mike Pence are both from Indiana which means you are related some how if you know what I mean.

I remember an interview with the band asking about the Mirage title and they could not explain it either except John McVie came up with the title. Anyone remember that or something different? John named Rumours and Mirage.
I actually like the title of all the Fleetwood Mac albums especially Mirage. Mystery To Me is my favorite then Tango In The Night and Rumours and Mirage. I also like Behind The Mask including the cover.

Wow, I would agree with that assessment. It does seem to be the illusion of a band album, rather than the full-blooded beast. Every album from Tusk on, with the exception of Behind the Mask, lacks the band sound from the White Album and Rumours. Not entirely, but a lot of it.

Did you know Behind the Mask was originally titled Twist of Fate? That would have been an interesting title, but I like BTM, too. The Dance, I don’t care for that title. Totally don’t get that one at all.

Speaking as somebody who generally HATES politics, I will say that I attended TWO ANTI PENCE rallies, when he was governor here.

The only rallies I've attended in my life.

So there!

I remember your Mike Pence stories and that is why I bring him up. Part of my sparking personality and unique charm is to dig into your psychosis and highlight what annoys you the most

I remember an interview with L&S, they said it's a Matisse painting. Can't remember why they chose it. I mean obviously it's five people but don't know if any member had that paint replica or just saw it once and got the idea to name the album.

One of the mirages was Stevie Nicks looking over the canvas she was painting on and seeing...Stevie Nicks, draped in red in the desert.

Couple of fun observations:

1. Mirages typically occur in the desert.
2. The video opens with Charlie Chaplin (or what looks like a silhouette of him).
3. Christine throws a letter and it turns into a hat.

Silly, but all true.

Chris walking with the horse was the coolest part and of course Mick and John finding all the Fender guitars. I remember Chris saying that Fender donated the guitars but they all had to go back which was a mess since they were covered in sand.
The silhouette at the beginning peaks my interest. We demand to know answers!

The coolest part of the Big Love video was the shortest. The quick shot of the band around the beach fire at night was so freaking cool in an otherwise ok video

Thank you Villavic- it doesn’t make me like the title any more than before, but it was nice to see the inspiration!

yes on a horse of course or was she walking it. She was also on a horse for the Civil War Stand Back.

This has been posted before but here is the behind the scenes footage of Stevie
