I love these picture so much! I appreciate them a lot and I always check this thread to see if anything has been posted. Sorry that I haven't made the effort to voice this appreciation sooner - they are such a nice little treat that brightens up some dull days!

It's SO discouraging, but we'd all hate to see you go. I know I might be one of the hated "hoarders" of pics, but that's exactly why I don't post hardly ever in these threads. It sux to see your effort and/or generosity abused. I too look really forward to new additions on your thread. If you go, many would understand. How bout you just re-cycle. Re-show us some oldies but goodies.

You know...if music didn't work out for Stevie, I have no doubt she wouldn't have had any trouble making it in the modeling industry (except for being 5'1'' and all...)

George Hurrell took those photos from Mirage--he photographed a lot of the old Hollywood stars from the "Golden Age" of film.

I really hope you reconsider ending this most enjoyable thread, all these photo's are so beautifully enhanced, & will be missed by all.. bad Karma to those people who have helped themselves & are selling GoldDustOrphans work on EBay btw this thread is in the top 5 of the most views, your talented work & effort has definatly not gone unnoticed & is much appreciated.. Thanks.

Sorry to hear it. Is it Barbara? She is known for pulling this crap and has been at it for decades. When you put your work out there it is a risk that people will steal it. And they WILL steal it. But so many more are enjoying it even if they aren't letting you know. I once posted a concert review that someone plagiarized as their own and posted to a message board. It was so bizarre that when confronted she completely denied what was in black and white. This was someone who's identity I knew though. There will always be people out there doing this stuff but are they worth not sharing your beautiful work?

You are right on the money about who it is. She's selling them on Facebook. Anything I post here, regardless of my digital augmentation, does not belong to me either. The "underlying work" is still protected by copyright law which actually can stake a claim to my revisions. I don't even feel exploited, but I feel bad if I've made it easy to sell fans inferior product. My FM remix compilation for which I designed front and back tray showed up on eBay for $60. The seller claimed it was a DJ only promotional copy. It took two weeks for eBay to remove it and that was after 6 were sold. This cuts into the business of legit sellers.

Everyone is more than welcome to download anything I post, draw a moustache on it, put it on their personal site, etc. It belongs to everyone, I just didn't think anyone was looking at these pages because it wasn't generating discussion, which I don't take personally. It would be really creepy to start a thread without prompting and then demand attention. I was just going to start a new thread, a comic book version of my fake 70s TV movie of the week: "Big Trouble in Shangri-La" starring Stevie as small town sheriff and Christine as her distant cousin, an inspector visiting from Scotland Yard.

The sudden groundswell of activity has made me reconsider my decision to drop this thread. It's nice that so many have posted their appreciation of the thread, but as long as I know it's getting hits, I'll keep going. No one needs to feel obligated to post thank you's. Check in every now and then and tell me what you like and don't like. Make requests.

and "GarboSpeaks": no one should be calling you a hoarder or projecting any kind of If you purchase images it's your decision what to do with them and not posting them here doesn't make you selfish and or a hoarder. Posting them could reduce their value or be misused etc. Music, I feel, should be shared, but that's also just my opinion.

I think real blueberries were applied as make-up. It has a corpsey porno vibe.

Trust me, I love it. Corpsy porno vibe is a plus.

All the Mirage out-takes have something.

I regret for not posting a BIG thank you for these amazing images.

It's a sad fact of modern day technology that anything anyone puts on the web is vulnerable to exploitation. Unscroupulous people abound. They need to be called out as such, and shamed.
