Dan Hawkins got fired as CU's football coach, due to the loss to Kansas and all the negativity going around in the press and the state about him. I feel badly. He was a nice guy who tried to clean up CU --- "The Drinking School with a Football Problem."

I was hoping he could finish the season, but it's immediate. His kid Cody is the quarterback, since Tyler Hansen got hurt. Cody sounded very postive at the noon press conference.

As my friend Fred says "There are only two types of coaches. Those who have been fired and the ones who are gonna get fired."

Well, I guess Dan & Wade can go have a pint at the pub after filing their unemployment claims.

There is a third kind. The Joe Paternos, Bear Bryants and Bobby Bowdens. Coaches that just go on and on....even with mediocre records year after year but survive based on past achievements. These coaches are not fired but forced to resign gracefully. Look for Joe Pa to go next.

Watching Miami of Ohio/Bowling Green on ESPN2, because, why?.. well. Take a guess.

I will passionately root against any school/team whose marching band has Bruce Channel's "Hey! Baby" in their repertoire. How f'ing annoying. Ethan, you're not in Bowling Green's marching band, are you?

CU. A university the football program can be proud of.

What game(s) are you watching this weekend?

I see where Nebraska is on PPV...

Since Colorado is headed to the Pac 10, we no longer get Big 12 games...bummer...

Any suggestions?

The guy who wired our house, messed up the cable connections....we can never get that fancy PPV stuff, unless we call an electrician who is also a phone guy.

However, there is a Husker Bar (imagine 17 big screen TV's all on the Nebraska game), that if we get to it 2 1/2 hours early, we can get in to watch. It's like you're in Lincoln.

All televised sporting events worldwide can be found (live & streaming) on http://www.atdhe.net. As long as you can put up with the occasional popups, its a great resource. No more PPV!
