As much as I loved the article and the excellent questions, I must admit my enthusiasm has been tempered by the inclusion of "Annabel Lee." It's a crap song, and all of the "minaret" solos in the world cannot salvage it. So if this is considered to be a benchmark for the rest of the album... . I sincerely hope Annabel Lee gets bumped from the roster, or, at best, becomes a bonus track on iTunes. I'm actually interested in the Twilight-inspired song... and it's kinda funny that I postulated that her album should be titled Twilight in another thread... I can't help but think that it will be thematically similar to "The Nightmare" with all of the gothic battle imagery- "well, she wants him to stand up and win... but she said, 'oh baby, you cannot walk away from this battle with the vampire...'"
I'm not getting my hopes up about China Doll because if it's not on the record, I will be bitterly disappointed. I agreee with you on Annabel Lee. With so many wonderful demos out there, why record that??? Sorry, I just don't it's a good song. But perhaps the Dave/Stevie/Glenn incarnation may have some worth.

I'm always amazed by a particular someone on here who will drop a clue a few months ahead of time that a new album is coming out and the thread is full of "yah right"s... and them Shazam! Official News of a new album. Nay-sayers take note. But then again, what would a good thread be without nay-sayers.

Wonder if there will be new press photos? That's the part I really like... along with the music, of course. The "movie" sounds way fun too!

The best demo she has in storage is Three Birds of Rhiannon and I wish she would just go all out instead of saving stuff. Put it on this album. That is great tune. Why wait until you are 70 and can't hit the notes at all. Do it now! Do yourself some good. Make your solo career your top priority. The song is beautiful and deserves to be heard.

No silly, she is saving that for her Rhiannon-project!

Like that will happen, Sorry she's been talking about this since 1978. Unless there is huge momentum behind such a specialty project as such, I don't think it will happen, Unless perhap's she is saving the song's for possible inclusion on a movie bio about her or FM.

I agree w Jondalar. Stevie needs to record these song's. She already recorded POTU, So let all the Rhiannon songs out of the vault - they are among some of her best compositions and I can easily see The Maker of Bird's" aka "Three Birds Of Rhiannon" , "Forest of the Black Roses" & "Forsaken Love" sitting nicely next to songs about Vampires & Poe's "Annabel Lee". It could be her goth album!

I think Annabel Lee is a great little song. Despite the simple demo, I can envision this sounding like a vintage Stevie Nicks song esp. if they arrange it to sound a little darker - "And the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams". And I love the way she vamps the line about lying down by his dead bride over & over as it fades in the demo. I think this song could be very cool. Having said that, I agree Stevie does have much better demo's in the vault, but Annabel Lee's possible inclusion does not concern me in the least.

I don't really like the basic melody of Annabell Lee on the demo we have but I'm open to hearing what it sounds like after it's been produced.

I was thinking Golden Braid...last time she did this (for me to see), was the Millenium shows at The House of Blues, and after she sang it, she said to the audience, I'm so surpirised you guys know that one....I was like, duh Stevie, it was on the White Wing Dove Video....(This was b4 it's official release on Enchanted)...After this show, she sat upstairs, and signed autographs for everyone who attended!

China Doll? How many songs has she done named after Frank Borzage movies? wow... Fortunately Borzage is one of my ten favorite filmmakers of ALL TIME.

Same here...very curious as to how Mr. Stewart will arrange this one...

I'm still holding out for the inclusion of If You Were My Love (my all time fav demo)

As long as it doesn't end up like Smile At Me...
