Why thank you

To be fair, growing up in southern New Mexico sometimes "Diana" IS pronouned "Dee-anna). But still. It's annoying as hell...as a result I HATE the name Diana (no offense to any actual Diana's out there).

Aww, one of my friends spells her name Carey. I like that spelling! It's like Care. With a y on the end. Awww.

My best friend growing up could never spell worth a ****. She'd always make my name Shara, Sahara (but i bet if you asked her to spell "Sahara" like the desert, she couldn't), Sarh, Srah.. just all kinds of idiotic crap. Duh-huh!

And.. Squeaky Squidget Mushroom Midget Oh Really O'Reilly O'Rourke.. that has a nice ring to it. In the event that I have a 3rd child, he or she will receive that name. I have already committed to naming my first boy and girl "Jethro" and "Tull", respectively.

****, yeah. I got called Lissa a lot by clueless substitute teachers. And they butchered my last name, too. They loved making it into Robinson. Kookooka****in'joo to them.

It aggravates me to no end, and I don't understand why people who have no apparent connection to each other do this, but apparently there's something about me that compels people to call me "Marky Mark." They've done it since I was about 11 or 12 and it hasn't gotten any less annoying. People call me "Marcus" a lot, too, and while I'd really just prefer to be called by my actual name, if they call me that instead of "Marky Mark," I can't complain.

Thankfully, I don't let most people know what my middle name is. Years ago, when I told people what it was, they would immediately ask "You mean like the hotel?" Now I'm afraid it would be "You mean like Paris?," and there's simply no way I could take that. Marky Mark is bad enough. I refuse to be mentioned in the same sentence as, well...hopefully you guys have figured it out.

Oh, oh, and then there's my last name. "Are you related to the people who make the grape juice?" Kill me now.

same here. my last name is butchered all the time. people insert letters that aren't even there. I'm used to it I guess.

same here - either they insert letters that aren't there, replace existing letters with others or just totally butcher it altogether. damn Czech names...

I think I'm Gretchen. In German that means ''Little Gretel". But I'm not German at all, almost all Welsh with a little Scot thrown in. The weird thing is random people will call me Bridget for no reason. If combined, I suppose I could be called Gidget.
