It took the performance of Rhonetta ("You think I'm gonna drink off you, motherf*cker?) to light the bulb in my head.

Here's what I think. I think they choose a song at each stop and make everyone sing it....not in front of the judges....in another room...just for laughs....Last week was Lady Marmalade......this week Fame.

Just my thought.

Okay, Rhonetta is an idiot. Those 3 are powerful music industry people, if she thinks she's getting anywhere now she is sadly mistaken. Plus she can't sing. She makes Mariah look classy though!

I think some people do more than one song for Simon, Paula, and Randy and others do not.

Kelly Pickler!!! What a sweetheart, and what a voice!!!

I also loved the 42-foster-home chick, with the 3 kids. She was funny, and could also "sang!"

As for the clunkers - wtf - that chick in lingerie w/ the Stevie cape?

And magic carpet kid? "Superstaaaah!"

I don't know about this season, but the seasons I auditioned that's exactly how they did it. Producers play a HUGE part in the AI process. They really want people with f*cked up stories or controversial stories and they take these people who can't sing worth a damn and "make" them sing these songs

...and they had to use quite a few of them that's for sure . What was up with her "li'l Kim" look anyway? I was just WAITING for that wig to fall off as she was doing some of her aerobic kicking.

Wasn't that Stevie's Street Angel era wig?

Ding ding ding! You win the prize!

Kelly Pickler is ADORABLE! I literally teared up a little after she made it & fell to her knees in the hallway.

And that singer's granddaughter gave me chills & goosebumps - that VOICE! So sophisticated, so rich. And I love that she sang a lesser known songs (the Dixie Chicks tune & The Bilie Holiday one), as opposed to everyone coming in & doing "Falling" or "I Believe I Can Fly" like usual. Good for her!

I can't wait to hear her sing again. She's phenomenal. I hope they show a lot of her once everyone gets to Hollywood.

This may be controversial, but I didn't like Kelly Pickler. She had a good voice, but I thought she was cheesy. I guess she reminded me of an even more backwoods, naive version Carrie, who I'm not very fond of.

I thought Kelly was sweet.

The other girl's name is Paris, just remembered that.

The highlight of the show last night for me was the guy with the tuxedo's little brother and all his comments before and after the performance. That kiddo was something else! I could have watched a whole show with just him talking. He was so damned entertaining .
