Gerald, no matter what I say, you're always there to express a contrary opinion.

The sky is blue!

That board was for spineless cowards. Everyone posted under a different name, but I didn't give a rats ass and used my regular one. Then it went down two days after I joined. Which was fine with me because I really had no desire to read Stevie/Lindsey pornfic.

Everyone used aliases except you, me, and Lux, I believe. Although Carne's "VacaSurvivor" left nothing to the imagination either.

Brian's right - I shouldn't care - BUT it was oh so delicious to hose them down with my disdain.

I guess "FM Drama" lived up to its name then!

I'd often wondered if we were the only online fan community with this much drama and in-fighting, but a friend of mine is a massive Queen fan, and he said the animosity that runs through their online fan community could put ours to shame.

My mom was into some kind of smart page, or something, DaVinci's room, I think it was called? And she said people were so cruel, and so rude, the stories she told I could never believe. makes this place look like a love in. Of course, they were mean about smart, knowledge things. They would belittle you unmercifully for not having some point of really obscure knowledge about something most people don't care about.

"hose them down with my disdain." And yes, I did belly laugh. Yay, Nancy. It's hard to resist when someone is snarking you. Sometimes.

That place was a riot to read and I was sad to see it go. Sure was entertaining. It was supposed to come back on a new host, but it never did.

I'm not sure why you seem to have so much invested in doing this but it's very unhealthy, IMHO. My respect for anyone who particpated would plummet, not that that's a deterrent to many folks, lol.
Well if I ran it, I wouldnt even be playing or voting so no ego boost there. And what friends are you talking about. I dont think I have any friends OR enemies on The Ledge. Everyones pretty much about equal. I just want to do it to see what happens. And you guys are really just being way too overeactive with this. The only way I think it would be bad is if in the first round everyone voted for the same person. Things CAN'T get more volatile then they already are and they arent that bad. I really dont see anyone getting too upset over this. And now I want to play more then ever to proove you people wrong. Im up to 12 yes's

I can see them all now. "Oh like my friend is so cool and smart, I love reading her posts, I always agree, she is such an asset for the Ledge, she makes my day bright - [insert name here] is boring, and likes stupid songs, and annoys me, and even if I did like her she is just so much less cool tham my awesome friend!"

I'd bet a Fleetwood Mac Live Bootleg that does NOT happen.

You see, there's drama even without a Survivor.

Can I add that there are THOUSANDS of people on The Ledge. Of course there would have to be a sign up. And only those Ledgies could participate and vote.

Having been posting on the Ledge since 1997, I can say that you're completely wrong about that.

This isn't about voting against a four-minute pop song or somebody in a music group you've never met, it's about voting against people.

Whether you want to accept it or not, absolutely nothing good or fun can come from this "game."

Oh, they won't use those words. But that will be the mentality. I can't wait to see who these 12 people are. No doubt people with "posses" who are counting on their little friends to jump in and gush about them. Sigh.

It's probably around somewhere, considerably pared down so that the members don't have to take what they dish out.

We have enough drama without having a game where folks are voting off other Ledgies... so why on Earth would anyone want to make matters worse?

I don't want to sound like I'm throwing my weight around here, but I will say this: if you do go forward with this game -- the second things start to get out-of-hand, either myself or one of the other moderators will close the thread.
