I just posted "The ocean is your blanket" in the water reference thread, but I think it rightfully deserves a place here. Has anyone mentioned it here yet?

Uh... oceans are a little on the wet side... and do you really want to be wrapped in a wet blanket? Really? Wouldn't you just get a cold from that, Stevie? And I love in that song that she says she wants to fly around the world in a golden ball. I'd like to fly around the world in two golden balls!

I would like to fly around the world in a golden ball, wrapped up in my ocean blanket, alongside a diamond snake in a black sky, hopefully avoiding running into the black space needle or crossing it's black shadow. Ah, to hell with the golden ball, I wouldn't run into anything if I simply rang like a bell through the night. Now THAT'S the way to travel.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like, "like a diamond snake in a black sky". I mean, wouldn't it be "like a diamond encrusted snake"? That sounds even worse. What the hell is a "diamond snake"?

Totally! Star Jones! That's awesome that you got the reference! I pretty much get that in my head every day! The other thing is, there is this really crappy commercial that I think they only play in Calgary for InstaLoans or one of those companies for retards who can't keep track of their money and need quick cash. Anyway, this African American... or African Canadian, I guess, woman is on the phone trying to get through and the announcer says something about her phone being cut off and she says "Mmmmmmhmmmm, it was my cousin's fault." And she does that awesome side to side head thing! So funny!

The coastline is glittering like a diamond snake in a black sky. She's talking about the view of looking down at the earth at night and seeing the lights of civilization- it looks like a "diamond snake".

I think it's pretty good imagery. My only problem with these lyrics is that she used them in "Destiny Rules". That was lame.
