Hee. My favorite was before... OWOA with Tammy. There are parts where she's talking and she looks JUST. LIKE. she did way back when. Then there's Raymond from Hawaii. "Can you do the huuuuuula? What!?" It reminds me of that OSOTM bootleg. "Why! What?! *cackle*"

Oy. Have you heard their take on Le Franz's "Take Me Out"? Ugh. They were probably the first to scratch their heads at the mere mention of Tab Hunter. "Is that their follow-up to The Hunter?"

They edited down the requests from the actual broadcast, they were all much more awkward and hysterical.

"But...I still got paid." That's my favorite part.

Oh, thank GOD I'm not the only one who doesn't like them. So annoying. Ugh.

[pose] Are they that fun in an actual concert, or was a lot of what happens in LBR because of how awkward it all was? I'd imagine there's SOME goofing off, but they're not coming 'round here anytime soon. [/bitter]

Annoying doesn't begin to describe them. They bug the **** outta me.

Yeah, they're a blast. Debs calls everyone her "beautiful darlings" and always puts the mic out for the crowd to sing into. At one of the shows I went to last year, she introduced Maria by saying "We'd like to do a song now from our reunion album called...EATTOTHEBEAT! Enjoy..." The crowd screamed "NO EXIT!" and she pretended to slap herself. It's much more fun than a Mac concert because the venues they play at are so intimate, mostly clubs and theaters. You're literally right there with them and they interact with the audience a lot, moreso than any other performers I've seen. They seem genuinely pissed off when people aren't shaking their asses to the music, too.

Ah, well. Diff'rent strokes, I suppose.
Picture this - a day in December
Picture this - freezing cold weather
You got clouds on your lids and you'd be on the skids
If it weren't for your job at the garage
If you could only oh-oh
Picture this - a sky full of thunder
Picture this - my telephone number
One and one is what I'm telling you, oh yeah

I always picked up that right away

Also: Deb and Chris are freaks, but David Byrne puts them to shame in the freakiness category. Must be all the acid they did together at CBGB's

I have been trying to tape that video FOREVER. Love it, but I really love the vid for This Fire. The eye makeup they wear in it? Way cool. And when he licks the envelope? I. Crack. Up.

I'm currently listening to a tape of myself singing FM's "Over and Over." Yes, I can be that vain.

I used to sing it as "You've got clouds on your lips and you'd be on the skids." One of my favorite songs, though.

Byrne is crazy. His eyes really freak me out, they're so intense. If you want to see some crazy pics of a group of freaks, you should see the ones of Andy Warhol, Basquiat, William Burroughs, and Debs together at Burroughs' apartment. Christ, is that the most unlikeliest group of people or what? And they look so serious that you just want to give them some weed and a Playboy to have fun with.

You should have used the cover for her KooKoo album and that old photo of him holding a dildo. His eyes, man, it's all in the eyes. They burn holes right through you.

Those two really need to collaborate. It would be some really bizzare ****. Did TH and Blondie ever play with each other?

They do need to get into the studio together, you're right. I should just chalk that up on my list of things I want to see before I die. Along with Debbie working with Le Franz, too.

They played together quite a few times as far as I know. I saw one bootleg years ago where Blondie, Talking Heads, and The Ramones did a show together. I would have paid in blood for that sucker. Debs is a big friend of Byrne and Tina, so it's not surprising.
