Did you not like hardy boys? Because I didn't like Nancy Drew. Me and my mom were watching South Park this weekend, and it was the one with the gay Hardly Boys, and my mom was all "I tried to read a Nancy Drew once, and it just sucked!"
But I think I read a few Nancy Drews. Not like Hardy Boys were literarily superior, I just think they had more dangerous adventures? Or, uh...climbed more things?
I have no idea...

yeah, i think i posted one of me crying a while back. i had scraped my knee, and my mom was like, awesome! sit there while i get the cam!

i don't know why i never read hardy boys. i think my school library had a ton more nancy drew, which made it more fun. and i had a friend who read ND so it was fun to talk about it with her. who knows, i was 7. i remember trying to read a HB book but not being able to get into it.

i was way into the boxcar children books too. ooh, and encyclopedia brown! did you read those?

I loved Encyclopedia brown, but I don't remember boxcar children. I read a lot of kids mysteries. A lot.

i still do, actually. there's a lot of good adolescent lit out there, and it's so much more fun than grown-up lit. it's all about fun.

True. I read a fair amount of adolescent fantasy books.

ooo, velour? mmmm. You had the cool preteen version, too, because you were older. I hope you wore it to the skating rink.
Of course I did! With white painter pants. And an arrowhead necklace.

And I loved the Hardy Boys. I think because I had fantasies of inviting them into my fort or some such thing.

I probably would have liked it 25 years ago. But I am so not into the boyish thing. Zmed however, grew up to be quite a stud.

If I was Zmed, I would have been in rehab, too. He's like the poor man's Travolta, and the ugly man's Baio. So sad. Even though he's not ugly. And hey, I love(d) Grease II, but C'mon!

Omg, I just saw this.

yeah, bitch stole my job. I coulda been soo Punky. I turned the role down because the writing on the show was so bad.
And why were there so many badly written sitcoms with kids in them in the 80's? I guess everyone suddenly forgot what was funny. And thought kids were cute. Both dangerous mindsets.
There was:
Punky
Small Wonder
Different Strokes
Facts of Life
Webster
Alf (okay, not totally about kids, but still not funny)
Cosby (better than the others, but still not hilarious)

and the one funny one, kinda, pretty funny, the kids were older - and thanks to Michael J. Fox and his comedic timing -
Family Ties

80's T.V. sucked so much balls overall, though.
Sitcoms that were funny in the 80's didn't have kids, or they did, but not cute.
Cheers
Married With Children
Golden Girls
Tracy Ullman
In Living Color
Empty Nest
Soap (was Soap in the early 80's, or 70's?)

My favorite 80's non sitcom shows:
Jake and the Fatman (huge crush on Jake, so hot)
Hart to Hart

I read that he had to do a bit of rehab, but that he was okay. I also read he's a Cancer. I also read that he has had small parts in some stuff. But I've never seen him. But I love him, and he was so hot, and I want to see him again, if anyone spots him... Oh, I also read that he's into being calm and...maybe some family stuff? I'll have to revisit that article. Man, he was hot. Seriously, I didn't and don't get crushes much, but my little 14 year old self and myself now loves that guy. So. Very. Hot. I think actually that he was/is my biggest media crush ever. Joe Penny.
