Haha! She did that with Enchanted. Love what you said Elle. And for her to get Christine on her album! Who knows, maybe by now she already put all her vocals on the FWM album? We don't know. Wait and see.

I see what you mean. I don't think that's the case. If they could get a record company to accept the four of them as FM and make a deal with them (which no big label would do, probably), I think John and Mick could brand the foursome as "Fleetwood Mac" if they liked. You know how Stevie always makes the joke that John and Mick could just fire them? Well, obviously they aren't getting fired, but I think there is some truth to that joke, in that John and Mick retain the name.

But for the tour, merchandising, etc., the group is probably defined as specific individuals, for those particular contracts.

I think we can reasonably assume this is not the case. A month ago Lindsey said they didn't know when and how she would record. It's unlikely that was all cleared up and her work complete in a month's time. Mick also seemed unsure of her plans and kinda seemed like he was hoping this Nashville thing wouldn't go longer than 2 weeks. They don't start rehearsing until mid-summer so if they don't need her for recording then he wouldn't care how long it would take her as long as she was ready in July.

I think it's pretty odd for this to have gone on so long when we all know that they're going to wait. They are in it for the maximum return and that means Stevie Nicks on an album of Fleetwood Mac material. Whether we feel they should release whatever they have now or wait, it doesn't matter.

I look forward to whatever they release whenever they release it. And as soon as I find a reasonably priced ticket I'll be counting down to my first show with all 5 Rumours era members onstage.

You make a very clear, factual-sounding statement and then completely undermine it with the next sentence. So, what it comes down to is you don't know. The fact is FM has no recording contract, so no one is obliged to do anything under the FM umbrella in the studio at this point.

I wish Lindsey would just walk away and go back to recording his own stuff. The EP was lame anyway. There's no guarantee a full-length CD will be any better, Christine or no Christine.

Stevie's Nashville project may well turn out way more interesting than a FM CD at this point.

The band is washed up creatively, but they know they still can rake in the dough with nostalgia tours. I understand Ted Nugent, REO Speedwagon and Styx do the same thing.

Blech... Lindsey, forget the money. You used to talk about artistic integrity. What happened to that?

there's no maximum returns on the albums, period.

i know. but since he won't the next best thing is to get that album out of the way as soon as possible and move on.

Seriously, I doubt there will be any album. And if there is, the best thing would be for it to be sans Stevie. Her songs dragged down SYW, which could have been a masterpiece, but for lame entries like Running Through the Garden and Silver Girl and passable tunes like Smile at You (with that cringe-worthy grammatical atrocity on the chorus) and Illume (which could have been terrific without her shameless narcissism).

I don't claim to know what Stevie's intentions are toward Fleetwood Mac, but I don't think there was ever any intention of having an album out before this tour. Chris stated her demos were very rough; she and Lindsey both said she was rusty; Lindsey can tinker in the studio forever. Last year's tour was supposed to end in Australia in December, and all members no doubt scheduled time for rest and other personal and professional endeavors in the first part of this year. And of course John needs time to recover. I think autumn was the soonest they could be ready to hit the road. Obviously it's easier for some people if everything they dislike about Fleetwood Mac is Stevie's fault.

But if I'm wrong and they really do want an album out in the next couple months, then Elle had it right....it's the fault of everyone BUT Stevie.

And exhausting.

I think FM chose a perfect name for the tour based on all this... I mean, honestly.
