Bob Dylan and Neil Young screech like cats in heat...don't like either one of them.

Careful. You know a duo of famous animators equate Stevie Nicks to a goat.

Same here. I have really given them a chance but I don't find their music inspiring at all. Also, I can't listen to Tom Waits' voice without wanting to recoil, I appreciate his lyrics but I never actually want to hear him sing them.
Never come across anyone who hates Springsteen before! Everyone usually has at least one song they like. I think he's awesome!

By the way, I forgot to add Bonnie Raitt to my list. What do people think of her?
Oh my God!! I've just realised that I posted that bit about Bonnie Raitt in the wrong thread! It was supposed to be in the other favourite bands/artists thread! I'm ashamed of myself and I feel I should assure everyone that I LOVE Bonnie, have a great many of her albums (I especially like Takin' My Time) and think she is one of the best live performers I've ever seen!

I'm now off to wash my mouth out and punish myself in some way!

Hahaha.Neil Young I can handle, but sometimes Bob's voice gets on my nerves,Yes Bobs song writing talent is awesome, but his voice goes right through me,Its like Burt
Bacharachs voice, he's a awesome song writer but,he should leave it to the pros to sing his songs which like he did.

Not to drift off the classic rock topic, but Mariah Carey and some other girl singers in in her music gender reminds me of cats in heat.I like her tunes especially her holiday cd. some time I have to turn her down.

P.S. Mariah is gorgeous ,still today..

He lives in a multi-million dollar house. The man has money LOL. He also has several John Lennon paintings, but I know nothing about them, like if they're originals. They could very well be, because he has LOTS of original art in his house.

And as for the cover turning me off... I just thought that was gross. And that they probably had sick minds. But I'm sure I'm wrong, but I don't really care anymore. Because I'm sure that if I listened to their music, I'd love it and dive into the Beatles too. My poor laptop can't afford for me to love any more artists. I'll save their CDs for a time when I run out of music to listen to. Which probably won't happen in say... 10 years?

I think a hair-shirt is in order.

Takin' My Time is also my favourite Bonnie album! I'm a real sucker for her older stuff like 'Give it Up'. I'm not a big fan of her 80s material, but then I'm just not a big fan of 80s music in general. That said I do love the version of 'No Way to Treat a Lady' with Christine McVie on backing vocals.

Compared to the original Fleetwood Mac line-up, the Beatles were choirboys. You do know who "Harold" is/was? Mick Fleetwood knew him, he was a "stand-up guy", according to John McVie.

What version is this?! All I know about that track is that it was written for Bonnie by Bryan Adams and I have it on The Bonnie Raitt Collection (the excellent collection of her 70s/early/mid 80s Warners material). I don't have the Nine Lives album that the song is from, it's meant to be pretty bad. I do like the song though, it's very different for her but very fun!

Have I been listening to the song on this collection all this time and not noticed Chris on backing vocals? I must know!! Haha.

I actually got into Bonnie after hearing her hit version of Thing Called Love. Like so many others under 30 I suppose. That song also got me onto John Hiatt. I like her stuff from Nick of Time onwards too. Luck of the Draw and Longing In Their Hearts are both great, although now we're into the 90s...

Overall I prefer her 70s output too though. Bonnie and Linda Ronstadt tended to swap songs a lot, which I love! Have to say I prefer Linda's version of Louise whereas Bonnie of course does the better version of Love Has No Pride.

Surely it's time she gave us a new album? Her last one was 2005 and she's normally more regular than that with her releases. Oh well.

Love her, haven't heard that song with Mrs McVie though! I took Mom to see Bonnie years ago, it was great.

I had one of those brilliant fortuitous accidents with seeing Bonnie live. For some strange reason I wasn't aware of her live dates (I usually am!) and was visiting somewhere to go and see a gig on a sunday night and decided to go down on the saturday morning and have a day wandering around just chilling before meeting my mate on the sunday. I was walking past the venue on the saturday afternoon and I saw a poster of Bonnie and when I saw the date she was playing...it was that night!

I walked into the venue and asked if they had any tickets left and they did! Also because I was on my own I got one of the few standing ones left (there are always a few left because very few people just book 1 ticket at a time) so I got a great position in the crowd, made all the better by the sheer surprise of the whole thing! I had Matchbox 20 the following night which is what I'd gone for in he firsr place. 2 great gigs in 2 days!

She was fantastic!! Think I was the youngest person there though, haha! I was 25.

I don't think the version with Chris was ever released, I have the demo. I'm so sorry I can't send it to you as it's on my PC which is currently residing in a different country than I. I feel really bad I've made you aware of it and now can't share.

'm also under 30 but I can't even remember how I got into Bonnie, probably a recommendation from a fellow FM fan! The first album I ever bought was 'Give it Up' actually, and I've never looked back since.

Linda and Bonnie together is my idea of a dreamteam! I can never decide on favourite versions though, I always change my mind. I wish they'd done an album together like Linda and Emmylou's 'Western Wall'. I too am eagerly awaiting a new album and a tour (where she visits the UK ).

Bonnie Raitt is one of my favorites. She's 2nd to Joni Mitchell as far as the consistent quality of her recorded body of work, IMO. She's had a few clunkers, but most of her albums are very, very good. Give it Up and Takin' My Time are both favorites of mine. Also, Green Light, Nick of Time, and Silver Lining.

I can actually handle Dylan better than I can Neil Young. There's just something about NY that turns me off big time, but like I say, I do like his country-rock-ish stuff. Somewhat. I have to be in the mood for it, which is rare...his voice is nails on an effing chalkboard 90% of the time.

Name any thrash/angst metal band or hardcore rap artist...I don't secretly hate them, I hate them outwardly....in public!
