I agree- the photo is terrific! You both look WONDERFUL- what a beautiful outfit! And don't feel bad about anything you were feeling about the event- I am SO SORRY you were made to feel "beneath them"- I know that is a horrible way to be treated and I know how much you were looking forward to it. You deserved more, but you do have that wonderful photo and hopefully in a few more days will feel better about the whole thing!

That photo is great Jayne. I know how you feel regarding being disappointed in yourself and being made to feel "common". In '98 I went to the AHI benefit. I traveled from Boston and got a front row seat to the concert. That donation was $1,000. There were a lot of fans there but there were also a lot of donor types. They seemed shocked that we were there.

The concert was a wonderful experience. Stevie came out to me first and took both of my hands for like, a lifetime! Seriously, time stood still and it was just amazing. I got one photo of her and "lucky me" security was right behind me and made me put the camera away. She watched me like a hawk, I was so pissed. I was mad at myself for not looking around before snapping the pic and not getting more. But now I cherish that one pic!

Anyway, the after party was where I became really upset. This was the year the benefit was poorly organized and Stevie left early. We were told to sit at our tables and be patient. But a lot of agressive fans were up getting things signed. Stevie was overwhelmed and left. I was sooo depressed it was unreal. So was everyone else. I was also mad at myself for being a good little girl following instructions instead of just pushing through to see Stevie. But that's not my style.

I actually went to Vegas on that same trip and met Sharon Celani in the airport. I gave her my sob story and she offered me backstage passes. Then after the Vegas concert we went backstage and waited for a while, finally the third time I saw Sharon peek out I went up to her and reintroduced myself, she had forgotten who I was. Then she invited us right in and she was really gracious and wonderful. She offered us water and took care of us for a bit. We took our picture with her, we met Carlos Rios too. He went and asked Stevie if she would see us after her MTV interview (with Elena for Fanatic) and she said no because she was exhausted. It was awful. I was so upset, that was one of my most depressing moments. So I know how you feel because I had these expectations and then they were dashed twice. To be so close but yet so far.

As others have said, you have your picture and you will cherish it! It really is gorgeous as everyone has said. I agree with the person who said to blow it up to poster size! Hehe.

You will feel better. Its okay to feel bad for a little while but know you will come out of it.

Thank you goldenbraid: you are right, i think i will feel better in a few days. Just this morning and yesterday especially i have felt so down. Im feeling a bit better today
Photo's in 6hrs

I can definitely understand how you might be feeling currently.
But I'd like to suggest that you try to keep in mind that Stevie's
still grieving right now. 8 weeks (or whatever it is), is not a long time to get
over the death of a loved one, and they were very close.
Stevie's 57 - 8 weeks probably seems just the same as yesterday
to her. It's one quarter of one percent of her entire life so far.
99.75% of her life so far, occurred before this happened.
Also she was working (networking) but also maybe trying to take
a little break from it all - but maybe in a way she was a little
disappointed herself. I heard that it turned out that it wasn't
possible to see the races from McManus's tent - apparently they
ended up escorting her to some sort of VIP room where she could
watch on TV. She must've been like, "Well GEE I could have
watched TV at home!"
So maybe Stevie gave you the best she could under circumstances
that were more difficult than appearances would indicate, at first blush.
And McManus, well, I just don't know. Maybe he's not used to having
somebody as famous as Stevie as a guest, and wasn't quite sure where
to draw the line.
I've heard that Stevie at least tries to read every single
one of the Christmas Cards she receives through Nicksfix - maybe you
could send her one and let her know who you are and how you felt
about meeting her, and why, and that you hope to talk to her more
Next Time. Maybe she'll feel more social in February.

"OH, and BY the WAY, YOU look BEAUTIFUL!"

Anyway I'm sorry you felt let down but I hope that it'll end up being
a very happy memory for you.

Forget about the bad things, people can be jerks and that's that.

You look like a million bucks in the photo - you even did that nice hand/wrist-thing - and no one has to know about the crap you endured to get that picture unless you tell them/remind them.
You've done well, everyone else can just F.O.!

Beautiful pictures! Like everyone else said, even if it was disappointing, you do have one very lovely picture of you two together. Both of you look amazing, and I love your dress.

Jayne,

Just try to relax and take your cue from Stevie. She is very very easy to talk to and she will usually start the conversation for you. She know's that you are nervous and she is very good at making you feeling comfortable. You'll be talking to Stevie the person, not Stevie Nicks the Queen of Rock and Roll. You'll become one of the gang backstage! Stevie is your biggest fan as much as you are hers! She let's you know and feel this!

I've met Stevie a few times and each time was awesome!

It's a good idea to have just a few things to either ask or tell her but the conversation will go to areas you never even thought of and it's kinda cool mainly because you can be so nervous when you first meet.

Have a great time! You'll remember it forever!

Rox

I don't believe they owe us their life ....but if it wasn't for us .....they would still be cleaning houses....Celebs want their cake and eat it too...you can't go into this kind of job and not think that people aren't going to come up to you tell you how they love your music or shows....no if she's walking down the street and doesn't want to be bothered she is on her own time..fine..but when your at a public event where fans are ...then they shouldn't get treated bad....by anyone

I really get the impression that this was more of a "McManus Problem"
than a Stevie problem. He was being Mr. Security Guard and maybe
trying to be Mr. Protective, etc. But like I said above, i.m.o. he might
not be used to dealing with somebody so famous and well-loved, and
wasn't sure where to draw the line.
And he needs to buy a comb.
