I'm glad this could be cleared up.

Now let's compare the link ( http://www.sweetness-light.com/archi...a-bushs-fault/ ) to what Sheehan said ( http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/2438 ) and see if there are any discrepancies. Hmm, perhaps this is best discussed in a new thread dedicated to it.
Yea, thanks! I thought it was a message board too...but something like a blog.

All it is really is commentary on the article...

let's compare...should we start another thread?

That would make about 3 or 4 threads saying the same thing. How many threads are there about GDW closing that thread.

It's over and I am sorry it happened. Let's not talk about it anymore.

We can discuss this of course, but just not do it in a fashion where anyone is trying to piss anyone off, no name calling and no links for now, ok? There are really important things going on in the world right now, is this THAT important?!!!

So we can discuss it without the link? And I'm assuming you're referring to the conservative link and not the one where Sheehan expresses her liberal views?

Sorry, guess I kinda missed that...

well is it too late to say I take back that entire...I'm leaving thread now...because now that I know I can be who I am here...I don't see no reason to leave. Which makes me look stupid now

Sorry guys...

So let's pretend that other "I'm leaving" thread never exsisted (hey if you EVER wanted to get rid of a thread...now is really your chance...DELETE THAT ONE!)
I've felt stupid myself. It's all good.

Oh, boo hoo. Conservatives have the White House, the House of Reps, the Senate, the Pentagon, the Supreme Court, and a majority of governorships. Now you're getting pissy because you don't have the Ledge? Give me a break. Geez, you conservatives are always saying things like "noodle-spined liberals," and yet you become a drama queen just because a POST ON AN INTERNET BOARD DEDICATED TO A ROCK BAND got deleted. Yeah, in the big picture, it really sucks being conservative, doesn't it.

I mean really, Steve. Should I dignify that with commentary?

EDIT: Okay, Steve...I don't mean to sound like an a*shole. I just think it's very unfair to bring those comments into this when it's the principle of the thing. Would you feel differently if it had been liberal material that was disallowed?

I had to think about the diagram of that, though...

This board does not constitute a place of free speech. It is a privately owned board, and the discussions can be moderated at the discretion of the moderators, who are appointed as such by the owners of this board. A majority of Ledgies who participate in political discussions are usually liberal, and many are of a minority group, specifically gay/lesbian. If a posting would personally offend the majority of Ledgies, then it is at the discretion of the moderators to remove such a post. And, it's not like there aren't outlets for conservative thought on the internet. This place, though, probably won't be one of them. Now we could talk about fairness until we were blue in the face. The fact is that there are obviously more conservative minded people in the USA, as all of political, economic, and military power centers are actually controlled by conservatives. Furthermore, posting on the Ledge is a privilege, not a right.

Would I be offended if liberal material was disallowed? Let's just say I would trade places in a heartbeat. I'll be more than happy to give up liberal material being posted on the Ledge if it meant that liberals would control the White House, the House of Reps, the Senate, the Supreme Court, the Pentagon, and a majority of governorships. And, if I felt the need to have a discussion amongst other liberals, I'd save those discussions for another board.

Honestly, I think I'm WAY too opinionated to be a moderator.

If this place cannot be an outlet for mere conservative thought (not offensive dialogue) at all, then that's sad. It doesn't matter that most of us are liberals. Conservative thought should not be outlawed. I know that many of us are part of the GLBT community. But I'm not so liberal that I just want all the conservatives to be quiet and not say what they think if they think they have valid points and are not defaming minorities. All of those points should be blatantly obvious and I thought I'd never actually have to say them but it appears that some people here do want people who are conservative to simply not present ideas, etc.

Sure, posting on The Ledge is not a right, but I guess I thought the majority had some minute say in things, considering many of us are Supporting Ledgies. I disagree with pretty much every recent development and I don't really intend to hold that opinion back. I've seen a few pretty good arguments for anarchy, IMO. The board is privately owned, but if the posters leave because they're fed up, then what good is the board?
