Yeah, this is getting really weird. Lagringader&r, are you still mad about the Random Thoughts/Express Yourself thread? Because it seems like you've got a lot of anger or something. People were defending Lux, and it sounds like you like Lux and were making a joke and she was in on it, so basically everyone who has responded to your post is in agreement on some basic level. I don't understand what the big deal is; there was just a misunderstanding.

Hi, Lux. Mmkay, well that makes things even weirder. I give up, I think I need to just stop reading this thread.

You were talking to me on AIM for the last hour. You said you thought it was funny. Ok, this is weird now but I'm not playing along anymore. Have fun.

God can you imagine what the FM Drama board would have made of all this?
That website was just so wrong and yet so addictive.
A person named RKzinsky was responsible for that.

Oh and I still don't see the problem with using smilies. Why are some people so down on them?
Because the smilies are used to smokescreen genuine antagonism by coating it with a veneer of pseudo-civility. Mixed metaphor & all!

Ugh, I remember that board. I was flame-broiled on it. But I didn't take it lying down. lol

Yes, passive aggressive smileys are very annoying - and very transparent.

Wow, now there's a blast from the past! We never hear from that crazy Canuk anymore. Too bad. I really miss the way he would just **** on everybody, including, no, ESPECIALLY, Fleetwood Mac! His posts were hilarious.

Yep. I don't mind them being used to express genuine joy or confusion or something, although I just imagine they're little critters parading in front of me in a shooting gallery.

But when they're used to "allow" peoople to be nasty or even to break the ledge rules, I would imagine that just about everyone can see right through them.

He befriended me, for some reason, & always invited me to Toronto to hang out with his band. Then he sent me their latest album. It was quite good! Very ambient, fuzz-jangle, atmospheric sort of music. One track -- I forgot the name of it -- was a masterpiece.

I still get bulk e-mail occasionally from the band when they're touring or gigging. Imagine the fun if Nep hung out here!

I was told that things were said about me there (I've been told that of other boards, too)... I never cared enough to look.

Some drip on a message board doesn't like me? How will I ever go on?!
