No, Men are cause of military scandals too!!! I was just saying that some of the most recent and most public ones have been involving women! Oh men too have caused a lot of scandals too, maybe even more than the women!

Yes, there is actually! Ann believes that women shouldn't be allowed to vote. I disagree with that. But other than that I agree with most everything she says.

I know lots of WOMEN (not men but WOMEN) who don't think that women should be allowed in the army/military. So I guess Ann and other women who are against it are misogynistic? I mean in all honesty (oh GOD I know where this conversation is going to head now!) men and women are built very differently. There are things that women are better at that men can't do and visa versa.

It's not that you've said it differently, it's just that you tend to add the "but, democrats are just as bad", which then has the aura of letting them off the hook a little bit. And I don't think the democrats are just as bad, which is why I pointed out that legislative intent and advocacy should be the point of judgement.

But, my point is that the D's jump on board and then gloat over it - like Ted K. did with the education bill and Clinton did with the DOMA and the Don't Ask Don't Tell joke.
I never once got any impression that Clinton "gloated" over Don't Ask Don't Tell. I think he was very disappointed and saddened that he couldn't do what he wanted to do. He apologized to the gay community many times in different articles, etc., if my memory serves me correct.

There was not a whoile lot of difference there between him and W
For me, there was one big difference (and for me, probably the most important one)- I can trust in Kerry to want to do the right thing, whereas Dubya is pure, concentrated evil who is only interested in promoting the interests of the plutocracy. And that, my dear Jason, is a difference that is wider than the Grand Canyon.

Default Jason, are you deliberately misunderstanding me?

also, I hate it when you lump all wealthy people into some kind of boat of uncaring people. I know you know that many wealthy people are kind, caring and VERY generous. I mean thanks to the Vanderbilts and their influence, people in Tenn. get free health care at their clinic - or at least I think they used to? Also, how do we define wealthy? That kind of thinking is just defeating of the whole notion that all are equal, no matter how true it may be for some.
I am not characterizing the wealthy people as uncaring, I am not commenting on them at all at this point! I am SAYING the REPUBLICANS DONT CARE ABOUT YOU IF YOU'RE NOT WEALTHY!! WHY are you making these assumptions? And the notion of equality never meant financial equality but rather equality before the law I think.

No, that’s not the main reason that I think women shouldn't be in the military, it just helps reinforce that theory.

JMO, of course.
How about Henry Waxman???

and I submit to you that the question is MOOT because the prospect of any Dem getting anything done in the current Congressional makeup is a fantasy.
And, many of them DONT keep silent! I can think of several Dems from CA alone who have principles: Barbara Boxer, and George Miller. and if I wasnt at work, I'd give you more names. You may be right about a large portion of them and its shameful, but in the long run, its only the Democratic party that gives a **** about the normal everyday American. (between the two Biggies that is. I admire much in the Green party but the truth is, they just arent viable. and until they are, Im not discussing them.)
