Exclamation "Crazy...but what do I care...

"Mentally wounds not healing....Driving me insane, Goin' off the rails on a Crazy Train"

Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne with the late great Randy Rhoads from the live Tribute album.

Thumbs up A sad song...

titled "Didn't I" by Montgomery Gentry. Great lyrics from the point of view of a Vietnam soldier coming home after the war...

Btw, Their (Montgomery Gentry) show tonite was great start to finish (The soldiers of Ft.Sill were into this show, And they made sure to thank the soldiers for keeping the "rest of us here at home free and doing what we want even if most do not approve or take it for granted.") and for a show held in a polo field and with a different production crew for the tour of military bases that MG are playing this holiday weekend, the sound was well mixed (I even told the Production Manager so after the show ended, We sat next to the soundboard.)

The opener Miranda Lambert (Gee, her first name sounds familiar ) was a suprise, She was very entertaining and even joked how audiences in her home state of Texas were NOT as respective as those in Oklahoma.

Brian j.

ps-Kinda ironic, But up until about 3-4 years ago I hated most country music...But for some reason I am listening to it more-and-more

I used to not care for it much when I was younger, but I heard it growing up because of my dad. That's his fave kind of music along with the oldies. I went through a "I hate country" phase, but I've opened up more to it lately. I've grown sick and tired of the same radio stations so I flipped over to the country stations. Also, watching CMT and the videos has opened my mind up to country.

I didn't care for country music at all until about six years ago, when a friend sent me a tape of Faith Hill's first two albums that I enjoyed. I tuned into the country station and came to love a lot of the music, especially the women--particularly Martina McBride, Faith, Shania, the Dixie Chicks, Jo Dee Messina, Terri Clark and Sara Evans. I enjoy the rich melodies and harmonies, and the wonderful instrumentation, and the simple, straightforward and often poignant lyrics.

But lately, I've had less of a stomach for country radio. I still love the aforementioned artists and many others, but I can't stand all the preachy music and right-wing politics that seems to be associated with country music these days. Most of the music seems to be shoving some narrow-minded fundamentalist Republican concept of family values and God down my throat. If I wanted to be preached at, I'd go to church or watch PAX, for God's sake. Even Martina has gone from singing about battered women standing strong against difficult odds to singing about motherhood and girl power. In short, country seems to have branded itself as strictly red-state music. Frankly, I miss Garth and the Dixie Chicks, people who weren't afraid to go against the grain.

That said, I still listen to my CDs and hold out hope that it's just a phase the genre is going through.

from what I can recall about my late Father is that he loved Country/Western music as much as he loved "Surf" music of the 60's...I have come full circle because I have been listening to alot of country lately.

Deb is also responsible for the conversion, She forced KU (Keith Urban) on me to the point where I became a fan from just seeing his talent up close (Front row actually) along with other country artists.

I agree that CMT does indeed show some great music videos, Unlike the "nude" fest videos shown on other networks...

Btw, I'm currently listening to "If You Ever Stop Loving Me" by Montgomery Gentry.
