Doubt it, it is a track from 89' the tracks here are from 69-87'

Stevie herself referred to the song as "At The Fair" at the Ohio State Fair in 1994.

And Carousel is not one word in at the fair, or any stevie demo we know

A CAROUSEL IS A WHEEL THAT SPINS SO MAYBE "CAROUSEL" IS "SPINNING WHEEL"!

I'm just kidding. What a fun time to be a fan!

The reality is, with one or two exceptions, Stevie probably didn't actually get most of these songs from Youtube. Something like The Dealer has probably been in her mind to officially record for years. Yes, maybe she went to Youtube to listen to it again, but she didn't discover the bulk of them again on Youtube the way she says she did Without You. She probably had a list she was thinking of and sent other people to Youtube to help her figure out which from that list would make the cut.

And you're right that what she didn't choose is interesting. Because then everyone will have to make two columns and decide if she didn't choose it because she rejected it for good or because she's saving it for later. With the Rhiannon songs, based on what she's been saying for decades now, she's saving them, for sure. With other songs, as was discussed withSpace Needle, that song is never going to be released. It's over. Fergeddaboutit.

Very excited by the track listing. Includes some favorites—The Dealer, Blue Water, She Loves Him Still, If You Were My Love—and some great surprises: Mabel Normand, Cathouse Blues.

Looking forward to hearing the unknown tracks, too.

Very grateful that we're getting to hear these great old songs redone with a contemporary flare.

I truly doubt that this is the case, BUT I couldn't help but remember that Vanessa Carlton wrote and recorded a song by the same title.

If there were ever a song to be rejected for good, that list could include Cathouse Blues and Mabel Normand. Much to everyone's surprise, they've been recorded.

At this point, I expect her next album to be the "Game Of Thrones" songs she mentioned she was writing.

I think we're more likely to see that one before the Rhiannon album/movie/musical whatever...

Oh you're right. And Stevie sang on it with her at a show. Believe me, no Vanessa Carlton song better be on this album.

So much to say, but I'll start with this: I am beyond thrilled with the track listing. It doesn't include every song on my wish list, but it does include many, along with a handful of songs I've never heard, which makes me that much more excited.

The iTunes preview of the Dealer, along with the snippets that Dave has posted so far, all sound great to my ear. And the Dealer is only going to sound better once downloaded and on vinyl - iTunes previews never have good song quality.

And I LOVE, LOVE the cover art - absolutely gorgeous. The handwriting is just perfect.

I, too, was struck by the different track listings. If I recall correctly, there was some disagreement between Stevie and the label as to the proper track listing for IYD, and an early acetate/press release had a different track listing (one that I by far preferred over the final one). All of which makes me wonder whether this is a way to split the baby. But in the end, I tend to think that the differences are meant to accommodate the space limitations of vinyl, and to a lesser extent the inclusion of the two additional bonus tracks.

Finally, the track listing makes me feel pretty confident that Stevie intends to release the Rhiannon songs as a separate project, whether it be as a solo project or with FM.

CANNOT wait for this to be released.

That's how I thought the whole album was. She knew about these songs, but she doesn't have the tapes, so they "found" them on YouTube (in that they intentionally went looking for them) and used the YouTube recording to reconstruct the songs.

I suspect we actually do know Lady and I Don't Care, just not the way they're titled and rebuilt. Hard Advice and Carousel I think are uncirculated (unless they were just misnamed online to begin with). We'll find out soon.

I could easily see Have No Heart and Space Needle turning up on an expanded edition of TISL, or even the new FM album (think about how dark most of her contributions to SYW were). But also, she probably has good board tapes of those songs. It wouldn't be hard for her to just issue them later, as an "outtakes" project where she doesn't re-record anything... or for b-sides or soundtracks, or whatever.

Cat House Blues is one of my favorites; a fun, clever little song. So surprised that she plucked that one out of obscurity. I can't image what was done to make Mabel Normand releasable. Wow. I expected we would get the unexpected, and we sure did!

Wouldn't The Dealer have been glorious as a Rock A Little Track? Yes, yes it would.

"At The Fair" is an '84 demo from the scrapped "Mirror Mirror" album, is it not? Along with "She Calls You Missing", "Running Through The Garden", "Greta" and "Mirror Mirror"
