I do not get the hate for Bad Journey at all.

I am not a fan of the travelogue listing of cities....but up to that point I like it a bunch.

I particularly like the part where she sings the line "So I pick myself up/Coz I put myself down" because I think it says a lot about her getting her sh&t together after that disastrous relationship and finding her inner strength, and I really like all the harmonies with herself on that line also.

it's far better than the "sister and brother" "you're a sexy man" song.....

You're referring to "Come Out to Play", which was later reworked into "Little Darling" for the 2020s remaster. The "you are a sexy man" lyric was actually removed in the transition from "Come Out to Play" to "Little Darling". I find myself listening to "Come Out to Play" more frequently than the entire In the Meantime album combined, perhaps with the exception of "Sweet Revenge".

I think it's an incredible vocal, however. The original sound check on the live album. She sounds fabulous!

There’s not a single Christine McVie song I can’t stand.
I don’t love Save Me….its rather trite
I don’t love Sugar Daddy….its rather, meh

The closest it gets to hate is When You Say off The Christine Perfect album. But she gets a pass as she didn’t write it. Even then it’s better than Danny K singing.

Sugar Daddy is my second favorite CM song, right after Think About Me.

I agree. Bad Journey is one of the highlights of the album. There was a deep dive of this song a few years ago. Chris lets it rip in the lyrics department. Its not sung angry but there definitely is some bad blood from this song.
We also discussed all the cities she mentions and she probably has been to all of them. I was curious about Boise, Idaho. That is a very unique city to mention. The Tusk Tour opened there. But we also do not know the travels she and this mystery man took.
The song is an incredible journey (pardon the pun).

I've always thought the city names were chosen because of how they fit together and rhymed. I don't believe she would have travelled to frankly any of those places with the cad she dated during that time.

I agree. For example Gitche Gumee is the Lake Superior but probably she or Dan had read a poems book (Henry Wadsworth) titled with that name, cause I dont think she knew Ojibwa language. I always assumed this song was a metaphorical way of referring to a relationship.

Most likely she’s an admirer of Gordon Lightfoot lyrics

All these years later and I can stay with certainty that:

--1: The one Christine song I truly dislike is "Skies the Limit"

--2: "Temporary One" is a great tune (sorry jbronwsjr, but you wrong, gurllll)

--3: "Bad Journey" is almost as sexy as "Bad Loser"

--4: "Sugar Daddy" is still one of the finest Mac moments on wax

1- it's leaps and bound ahead of Ricky.

2- I'm with gurl on T.O. It's meh at best. I really hate all the new Dance songs. Except maybe Bleed.

3- Bad Journey is in the middle. I don't skip it.

4- you, sir or madame, are SPOT ON. Think About Me is the only song greater than Sugar Booger Daddy. It's funky AF.

I always think of Sugar me Daddy as sort of the last of the old Christine, if you know what I mean. It sounds like it could fit on several of the prior FM albums easily. She shifted how she wrote after that....or what she brought to the band, coz even leaked demos of later stuff is more pop-ish than blues-ish which is where I put SD

I love it! That piano with the B-3 organ, and the guitar solo!
It's perfekt!

Anyone who doesn't like Sugar Daddy is a moron.
