Oh yes she did, we all do, but since she didn't change in the direction you (said in general) want you don't see it at all.

Apparently not. Any way here are some, in case you (always said in general) didn't notice them:

- she doesn't seem to consider anymore Lindsey the mastermind for the production of her songs.

- She toured and keeps touring with different artists, showing obviously a new enthusiasm for live shows.

- She doesn't seem that eager to get back to FM

- she worked actively as she had never done before on a greatest hits cd/dvd release.

Now, the way these changes might be connected or not only time could tell. They could bring her to a new album, to constant touring with her hits for the next years, to a different field of art. Beside common knowledge, fans aren't able to predict the future.

um - she can't stop talking about Lindsey..and nitpicking his every move.

Um - she tours..and tours..and tours..same old crap setlist.

um - she will gladly go back to FM whenever they call her..what else is she up to?

um - she churned out the same old **** we have been buying/hearing for over 20 yrs now.

Her patterns have shown us her future is very predictable.

Actually i think that only the unsustainable heaviness of some of her fans is very predictable.

Don't forget that she actually handed Lindsey the set list for the next Fleetwood Mac tour. (Hell she even discussed microphone positions, that is how much thought she has put into it) Stevie would be with FM right now if Lindsey wanted to tour.

Also, where did Stevie say she does not consider Lindsey the mastermind behind her songs production? I cannot think of a time when she ever said publically he WAS the mastermind behind her songs production. I think Jimmy Iovine proved to her many years ago that other people can produce hits for her. So I don't see any change from her there in recent years.

yyyikes, romy. you just pretty much dug the grave and buried your own argument.

if that's the best you can come up with to prove she's changed along with the rest of us in the past decade?

I don't have to prove anything, I see some things as signals in a certain direction while you don't. I just think that people go to different speeds in their lives but anyway they always keep moving, and that's magnified for an artist. To give Stevie time and trust is the least I can do.

About FM Kelly, I don't know. Something must have happened during the last tour, IMO. I don't get the dynamics among them right now, especially between Buckingham and Nicks. The 2007 anniversary potential not brought up by them made me think.

I'm not expressing a judgement on baby boomers in general (that would be easy, btw), and I was not referring especially to them, but to all those who keep watching Stevie Nicks comparing her to what she was in the past, or using her as a mirror to what they were in the past. We all change and she changed too, I just think her choices deserve the same respect we want for ours.

Romy

Did it ever occur to any of you that she's not responsible for the questions she gets asks by reporters? Of course they ask her about the drug addictions, of course they ask her about LB. That's no doubt what they want to talk about and do you really think that the average reporter interviewing her is going to be as familiar with her career and her life as we all are? Do you really think the average reporter is going to ask her the same questions we'd ask her if we got a shot at interviewing her? Furthermore, face facts: drugs and sex sell! What else do you think they are going to focus on in interviews? Stevie has no control over what people want to write about her or what questions they ask her in interviews.

Secondly, let me tell you my own experience when I last saw stevie on the Gold Dust tour. People in my section were on their feet, dancing away until she played "Fall from Grace". Half the people around me sat down. They weren't familiar with the song. I'm pretty sure that has something to do with her sticking to her most familiar songs, it's what the average audience member (not the diehard fan) knows and probably paid their money to see. Let me end by quoting James Taylor on the subject, from his song, That's Why I'm Here:

"People pay good money to hear you sing Fire and Rain
Again and again and again."

Think about it. (Hey, that's a Stevie song!).

Ok, I'm posting this having only read the first and last page of this, so if I repeat stuff, I apologize now.

This is all deja vu to me. When I became a Tom Petty fan I saw the saaaaame complaints from his fan base. So I'll say the same thing here that I did in regards to his shows:

I am a new fan. I have NEVER seen her live. If I went and saw her for the first time, and she played a bunch of random stuff with very few 'hits' that I would recognize, I don't think I'd enjoy it as much. Sure, I know EVERY song from BD, TWH, SA, and TISL, but when it comes to the rest, I'm a "Room's On Fire" "Talk To Me" fan. If she started playing other deeper cuts, I'd have no clue what the heck she was singing, and there are few things that are more awkward to me than going to a rock n roll show and having no idea what the act is singing.....

That being said, I wouldn't want that same setlist EVERY time, but being a 'first time fan,' it'd be nice to hear the 'same old stuff' at least once because I never have before.
