I need to buy rechargable batteries for my camera, I accidentally tossed them in a bag of crusty old batteries and now I can't find them. I don't understand why regular batteries won't work in a digital camera.

I think you have camera issues, Skippy. They work fine in my Olympus.

I have a Hewlett Packard and whenever I put regular batteries in it, it works for thirty seconds, the battery light goes red, and it shuts down. And the batteries are completely zapped from then on.

but considering how they have over 50% of the Oklahoma retail/Grocery market I am reduced to (Be it very begrudgingly...Deb can attest to that! Except for music purchases, Then I am the online King-Rat Bastard) shopping there with no choice since Welfare-Mart (They pay their employees so badly that almost all non-management employees can qualify for "public assistance", Maybe that is ALSO why WM teaches their employees how to apply for "public assistance") has driven ALL local retail/grocery businesses into closing shop.
