I was just saying that we had already adressed the issue you had posted about. So I just wanted to make sure you read it all....that's all.

I'm not going to argue with you, get mad, angry, or even discuss this with you...because it never leads anywhere. So, I'm sorry, you can play your own games by yourself.

You know, I don't like her. But I still think the punishment was too stiff. I do believe she deserved to be punished though. You just can't commit a crime, lie about it, and claim to be innocent when you are not. There has to be a consequence or we don't have a "society". Clearly she wasn't a risk to commit another crime so 5 mos in jail and then 5 more house arrest is excessive. Granted, her home is a palace but as a billionaire she is used to being able to go anywhere she wants. A few months of house arrest would have been a sufficient punishment. I don't think she'll ever commit this type of crime again.

As to why she won't admit to doing wrong? There seems to be some people that believe that if they don't admit to guilt then they are not guilty regardless of the facts. Whether this is due to arrogance, self-delusion, or some philosophy I am not sure. I wouldn't behave this way and I believe that if you cannot admit to something you've done wrong that is a severe character issue. I would never trust a person like this. Unfortunately alot of people in leadership positions behave this way.

I really hope Martha has learned something from this. I hope that even if she doesn't show it she feels some remorse for what she did. This could be an opportunity for her to be a better person and I hope she seizes it.

And yes, her poncho was fabulous.

I'm not a Stewart fan, but I have much respect for her. She worked her ass off to get where she is today and regardless of whether she's a bitch or not, that will never change. She's a self-made woman with brains and drive, she's got my respect in spades.

She handled this entire witch hunt with class and dignity, but that's just my opinion.

I didn't care for her before but anyone who is willing to do time for the crime when they could have waited it out on appeal gets props from me.

I am all for trying those people. I just do not think it is correct to say Martha should be exonerated because she was the subject of a witch hunt - she commited the crime pure and simple and she also did insider trading, though they never tried to prove that because they had a clear cut case of obstruction.

I never said she was innocent.

Me too - though I think she did the time ahead of time because she knew it was a good publicity move.

In the end, the MS case in interesting because I think people in some weird way do not care about lying to the police when it is someone they like - when it is someone they do not like or a situation they do not like, then they get all up in arms about it as in this case.

I know - but I think you are up in arms about her trail and conviction, which I do not get because she was guilty of obstruction and according to the facts insider trading. Yet, people think she got a bum deal. I do not get that. She broke the law and also used her position to get an illegal advantage over other Imclone stockholders. To me, that gets her no sympathy.

But, she has done her time (most of it) and I will continue to like her. I really never stopped liking her, though she was guilty.
