I was just outside....Wear a scarf and hat if you go out, that's the biggest thing. Other than the wind it was ok

I'm bundling up right now - getting ready to go and shovel some - even if everything is closed - I still have to make it into work (damn radio)- and it wasn't too bad here - the snow is only knee deep

If the local watering hole is open my roommate and I will be going there to watch the Pats. It probably won't be open but we'll see. It's just a few doors up so I think we'll manage.

The wind has been insane, we live on the water so it really whips our building. My roommate had snow coming in her window which Mufasa was having fun playing with.

When I went to the grocery store yesterday it was insane. There were no more carts there were so many people. Almost all the yogurt was gone, Silk plain soymilk - gone, bread - mostly gone, frozen blueberries - gone ??, it was so bizarre. Oh yeah, no tortilla chips. I have never seen so many empty shelves in my life! Fortunately I caught the tail end of the crowd so the lines weren't long anymore when I checked out. They were 6-7 deep when I walked in .

But the bad part was the snow had already started so I had to drive in it. I had some guy tailgait me right on my bumper, and some guy brake in front of me for no reason on the highway. Why can't people use caution in the snow? It makes me crazy. Also, my battery in my car is going so it was dead when I went to leave my apartment. I flagged someone down for a jump and it was fine from store to store. Then it died again after I dropped off my groceries and I had to flag someone down again, this time standing in an almost blizzard. LOL. Anyway, I have lots of great food, including Dove Promises dark chocolate (heavenly + antioxidants) so I am happy. Now my car is tucked away on a side street covered with a snowbank I am sure. The small streets don't get affected by the snow emergency.

I wonder if the office will be closed tomorrow? Pattie, good for you that you are off! I wish I had a digital camera to show you guys my 'hood, I'm getting one soon though as a belated Christmas present to me.

Stay warm and safe everyone!

Yeah, the only "good" part is it died right outside my building, both times.

I'm safe, using being snowed in to clean up a bit and chat with you fine peeps.

Plus, your chocolatey ice cream goes a long way towards peace of mind.... Glad it was in front of your house...It's all super blue sky and 50 degrees, here...

Yep - that's us That's the one thing I hate about my job - even if everything is closed - we still have to be there - telling people that everything is closed....I just hate driving in all this mess...because as Suze pointed out - people are dicks on the road in this weather

I have to laugh at some of the announcements. I mean last night it was all religious services that we being cancelled for today. This list was like St. Mary, St Ann, St Joseph, etc. all with no services. Today it’s places like Curves and the Y that are making the closed announcements. The governor declared a state of emergency why would you go out to exercise?

I know. The shoveling is enough exercise for me

We are required to run the closings actually - so it's not a choice we made - I haven't had to do any actually - since they're mostly done in the morning - but when it gets bad and they start announcing stuff the night before - then I have to do it too - blah...stupid snow storms...

They're actually like little kisses except a different shape. A scientific study was done on them and they have the highest pure cocoa content and therefore the most antioxidants, they are divine.

I wanted to go to the gym yesterday after I finally got my car parked but I walked by and there was no one there. The person at the desk was there but no patrons, the last 2 were leaving. I didn't want to be the dill hole to make that poor girl stay there.

I used to be a milk chocolate girl but for some reason I've flip flopped to dark. It also doesn't have the "bad" milk fat that milk chocolate has.

Congrats on sticking to the diet. I didn't do that much exercise over the holidays but when I went to my annual physical I found I had lost 4 pounds. I thought it was the way the scale was calibrated so I weighed myself at the gym and I really had lost it. I've lost one more pound since. For me what seems to work is small but fairly frequent portions. You GO girl! Does anyone even say that anymore?

Hey, that's great!!! 4 lbs! that's about what i've lost...
I didn't totally stick to it, notice i said i'm back on it...
I've kept to it pretty well, though, and i'm keeping up with my excercise. Just gotta persevere and be patient. It helps that my friend has lost 13-14 lbs, she's the one i go to the river with in the summer, and i don't want to be the fatass when we do, especially considering she's had three kids... A little friendly competition never hurt anyone! Oh, and i'm really loving the no caffeine part, i feel great with that...
