Again, Christine, Mick, and John were originally in the video, but were taken out at some point.

It’s still a pretty bad video, but it made slightly more sense with them in it.

I thought I’d say a little bit about what I like about some of the videos.

First, I think I would move Little Lies to #1 on my list. This video is dang near perfect- the animation coming to life looks great, and the setting is pretty fabulous. I mean, the director probably packed everyone on their separate limos and said ok, start mingling lol. I love the different combinations- Christine and Lindsey, John and Stevie, Christine, Mick, and John, etc. The barn setting, Christine at the piano, and finally the entire band performing together, it all works. Perfect foreshadowing of Lindsey leaving the band and they all look beautiful.

Gypsy- it’s just a beautiful product; it’s literally a short film. Even the dancing with the extras in the rain is remarkable- they’re not in perfect sync, which makes me like the video even more.

Big Love- cool 80s video that everyone remembers when it goes in reverse near the end; Stevie’s hair almost steals the show, but Lindsey is the star here. I think Macfan4life mentioned the scene where the band is on the beach by a campfire- can you imagine how many hours it must have taken to get that literally 3 second shot?!? I would have liked to have seen more of that.

Save Me- Christine does what I think is her best emoting here. And she looks gorgeous. Look at the scene where she sings “I can’t wait any longer for paradise” and her eyes and head tilt to the right. Her comfort with the camera had improved significantly since her solo songs, and it showed here significantly. And watching Rick play is such a joyous thing. Interesting use of shadows, too.

As Long As You Follow- watching these six perform this song on a hotel room set is about as intimate a setting as you can get. I wonder if it was inspired by all those stories about how they used to jam in someone’s hotel room on nights after a show, because that was how much they enjoyed that first tour. They all look beautiful here, too, especially Christine. The story with the other actors is watchable and somewhat curious, but thankfully doesn’t distract too much from the band.

What is it the rest of you like about your favorite FM videos?

Musically, it's perfect. That piano intro, with the B3 kicking in after that. It might be my second favorite FM song(after Think About Me). The guitar solo rocks. Everything about it rocks!

Love Shines, and ALAYF, should have been big hits. They're CLASSIC Christine/ FM sound. Her hits were what made FM the perfect mix, balancing out the weirdo and the ditz.

This made me think... I would enjoy the "Making of" documentaries of these videos. It would be interesting to see deleted scenes, concepts, how they decided final scenes, the behind the..., etc. Plus their faces (happy or surely angry ), comments, etc.

Somebody send a message to Mick with this idea, sure his eyes will turn $, anyway it would be interesting and some questions here would be answered.

Maybe I am in the minority but was not crazy about the Big Love video. It was my least favorite of the Tango series. We barely see the other band members except them playing a minimal goofy set up in front of a house. Stevie had that horrific Red Rocks touch up hair with bangs on the side and poofy on top. I thought the special effects of Lindsey floating towards the camera while playing was pretty basic even for 1987. But its a cheezy song so not sure anything other than a cheezy video would suffice.

My rankings would be:

Gypsy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwgg1Pu6cNg

Fun to think what music videos we might have got for the earlier big singles had MTV been around since 1975.

Meanwhile, a new fan theory: do the three dolls at the start of Gypsy represent Christine, Lindsey, and Stevie, or is this just another mirage?

Macfan4life, I know you hate the song Talk to Me, but you dislike the video that much, as well? I like it because, despite how deep in addiction she was then, Stevie looked incredible in the video, and she’s wearing fabulous dresses. And I love the whole art gallery motif.

I love the song, but I'm with MacFan on the video. You can tell she's not her 1983 ish self. Something in her eyes are indicating a long dark road is about to happen. I love that album where many don't.
